         <description><![CDATA[<div>~Lev Vygotsky was born born in Russia in 1896.<br><br>~He died at the age of 37 from tuberculosis.<br><br>~Due to his early death, most of theories were left underdeveloped.<br><br>~His&nbsp; work in the last 10 years of his life has become the foundation of much research and theory in cognition development.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>~Vygotsky developed social cognition which placed more emphasis on social contributions to the process of development.<br><br>~Vygotsky emphasized the influence of culture, peers, and adults on the developing child.<br><br>~He believed that children will acquire ways of thinking and behaving that make up a culture by interacting with a more knowledgeable person.<br><br>~His theory suggests that social interaction leads to continuous step by step changes in a child's thought and behavior that can vary greatly from culture to culture.<br><br>~Vygotsky believed that teachers should discover the level of social/cognitive development of each student.<br><br>~Vygotsky said students then alter a scheme in a way that provides an organized way of understanding and remembering information, know as scaffolding.<br><br></div>]]></description>
