Hi everyone! My name is alexys arias and I’m 20 years old. My family is from Honduras and Cuba but I was born here in Miami. Spanish was my first language but I unfortunately lost most of it when I was young. My favorite thing to do in my free time is sing. I’ve been singing since I was 8 and I’ve been in chorus since I was 10. Along with my love of music I love to act as well, which when put together explains my love of musical theatre. The interior of my car is purple, my room is purple, and my hair is purple, can you guess my favorite color? Traveling has always been super scary to me until I recently took my first trip without my family. I was petrified at first but when I arrived to the white sand of Bimini, I realized how many opportunities I’ve missed out on. So now I travel almost every month to random different places! My favorite trip was when I went to the airport and asked for the first flight out which just so happened to be NYC. I also love social media and making content! I’m currently working on getting my Digital Marketing Specialist certification! This is my last semester until I receive my AA degree and I’m super ecstatic about that! Although I have not decided on a Major yet I’m considering something with Music or Communications! I’m very excited to be taking this class and I hope to get to know all of you more !:)

It is important to know about the destruction of coral reefs because coral reefs are vital to the health of our oceans and are home to a large variety of marine life. Coral reefs are also important for coastal protection, providing habitats for fish, and providing economic benefits through fisheries and tourism. Unfortunately, coral reefs are threatened by a variety of human activities, including overfishing, pollution, and climate change. It is essential to be aware of the destruction of coral reefs and the impact it has on the environment and our livelihoods, in order to work towards finding solutions and protecting these important ecosystems.

The video introduces us to Mira Lehr, this incredible artist who's like this magical mix of art and nature. She's got this super cool way of using her art to talk about things like saving the planet, and in the video, you see her in action. She's all about blending natural stuff into her art, making it this unique, earthy masterpiece. And you can tell, she's not just painting pretty pictures – she's on a mission. Her art is like a secret weapon for making people think about how we're treating the environment. The video gives you a sneak peek into her journey, and it's like watching passion and purpose collide. Mira Lehr is like the rockstar of eco-friendly art, showing us that creativity and saving the planet can go hand in hand.

I listened to the fast fashion video and I chose that video because I personally have used websites like SHEIN in the past and I’ve always been so curious  as how the prices remain so low. According to the video it showed that many influencers and celebrities were promoting SHEIN by doing collaborations with them and getting their fan base to purchase items from that website. SHEIN warehouse is located in Foshan , Guangdong and the clothes are then shipped to the Los Angeles warehouse. A reporter actually was able to go to the GuangDong warehouse and reported back that it’s not child labor like many people predicted but it was adults working for cheap and with no contract. I definitely will be thinking twice before I buy anything from there again.

In the video, "A Guide to the Energy of the Earth", in the video it had various pathways through which energy cycles on our planet, spanning from the sun to our food chain and electricity generation. Despite the raising of global demand for energy, the Earth grapples with limited energy resources accessible through intricate energy infrastructure. Additionally, there are newly formed chemical structures where some energy is stored, but occasionally, these energy fragments are dissipated into the surroundings, such as through body heat generated during the food digestion process. The emission of pollution into the air poses a threat to the ozone layer, subsequently intensifying the impact of solar radiation on our skin, potentially leading to health issues.

In my other classes, I've found ChatGPT to be a super handy tool for brainstorming ideas, refining my writing, and getting additional perspectives on different topics. It's like having an always-available study buddy that can help me out with research or provide insights on complex subjects. I usually use it to complement my learning process and improve the overall quality of my assignments.

Removing the cost of transportation is a game-changer, especially for those without the means for a car or limited alternatives. Whether it's a homeless individual striving to make ends meet or someone prioritizing money for different needs, free transportation acts as a lifeline, alleviating their burdens and creating fresh opportunities. The idea of free transportation is a solid one; it not only benefits our community but also supports those facing financial challenges. The video's research reinforces this, indicating that in cities where public transportation becomes free, there's a noticeable increase in ridership. It's a win-win, boosting accessibility and overall community well-being.

Considering a move to Miami? Well, it's a vibrant city, but there are some factors you might want to weigh. Firstly, the city grapples with serious climate change challenges. Rising sea levels and the increasing frequency of storms can put your property in jeopardy, not to mention the regular flooding that occurs in low-lying areas.

Also, the rising temperatures and humidity levels could make Miami less than ideal for those who prefer a more temperate climate. When it comes to housing in Miami, it's a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, you've got a diverse range of housing options, from trendy condos in the city to waterfront properties with stunning views. However, the cost of living, especially in terms of rent, can be a bit steep. Miami is known for having a higher-than-average cost of housing, and rental prices have been on the rise.

Alright, let's talk about tackling the issue of food loss and waste. It's a big problem, but there are definitely things we can do about it. First off, as individuals, we can start by being more mindful of our own food habits – plan meals, buy only what we need, and make use of leftovers. Communities can set up local initiatives like community fridges or sharing excess produce. Organizations? Well, they can work on improving supply chain efficiency and supporting local food banks.
