My name is Madison Brodsky. I am 18 years old and a senior at Woodmont High School and will be attending Newberry College in the fall. I had previously started an internship at a chiropractor, allowing me to further my knowledge within areas of the medical field. It has taught me patient care skills and how to best assist patients whenever I can. I have continued to work at this job and learning new skills to allow me to potentially further myself in the medical field. I am looking to continue my studies to become a bigger part in the medical field.

I think I had definite room for improvement on the cover letter. I did well with the formatting, but a few minor details on MLA formatting were missing. I clearly showed the use of all three appeals within my cover letter to an employer. However, I need some improvement in identifying the aspects that the employer would need from a new hire. I needed to clarify what I could provide and demonstrate clear knowledge of what the employer was looking for. As well as a few grammatical errors that had gone unnoticed by me.

Logical Fallacies and Appeals

I have a fairly well understanding of logical fallacies and how the appeals apply to everyday life commercials. My major concerns about mistakes in this assignment would be misuse of capitalization errors and grammatical issues. I need to pay more attention to run-on sentences and break up my sentences for more clarity within my writing. Using more transitional words to help the words flow more easily to a reader would greatly improve my writing.

Creating my Padlet for the portfolio was generally easy once I figured out how to use the system. Based on classmate feedback, my writing was professionally done and well-written. However, she also mentioned that there were instances where I could've added more depth and explanation to a statement. She mentioned I needed to be more specific with my future goals and I completely agree.

I think essay one’s writing process came fairly easily to me, although I have found it is slightly easier for me to compose everything for an essay all at once rather than spreading out the writing over several days. Something difficult for me to do would be shortening sentences. I tend to write longer sentences to try to explain material as best as possible, but sometimes, when doing so, it causes coherence gaps because of the length. If I had to rewrite it, I think I would pay more attention to the way that I word things because there is most likely a better way to do so that adds more clarity. I could also shorten phrases, providing more clarity to the sentence.

Researched Argumentative Essay

The writing process for essay two was more constructed with more assignments focusing on the development of the essay. I think in some circumstances it was a little easier than writing essay one because I was able to work out some kinks earlier on within assignments leading up to the essay itself. However, I think my essay construction was fairly good, and my only typical issues are small grammar corrections or clarity corrections. I think having more sources to back

up my point made it slightly easier because I was able to use several other pieces of work or statements to further prove my point. I think finding sources that are helpful and credible can be slightly difficult at times because it can be hard to tell if a source is truly credible sometimes. Essay one’s feedback helped me to try to shorten the explanation to make them more clear or change the phrasing of some sentences.
