         <description><![CDATA[<div>A small compact cell, released during sexual intercourse and their main function is to eventually meet with and fertilize an ovum.<br><br>The sperm cell is made up of a "head" and a long tail. The almond-shaped head helps to penetrate the membrane of the ovum. The tail moves with whip-like movements to propel the cell forward.<br><br>In most male mammals, including humans, sperm is produced continuously and released at ejaculation.<br><br>The sperm is optimized to propagate the paternal genes; it is capable of reaching high speeds so that it can fertilize an egg before it DIES. If it does not fertilize an egg in time it DIES.</div>]]></description>

They can transduce a variety of stimuli into electrical signals to the central nervous system making them responsible for coordinating and controlling many body activities. They are only found in animal cells and consist of the cell body otherwise known as the soma, a major branching fiber called the axon, and numerous smaller branching fibers called dendrites. The cell body contains the nucleus and maintains the cell's structure, provides energy, and contains genetic information. Dentrites help the cell receive inputs from the axons. The axon is where electrical impulses from the neuron travel away to be received by other neurons.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

These cells help protect their host by being a barrier against invading organisms, harmful chemicals, and UV radiation from the sun. They also minimize the amount of water and heat lost through a person's skin.<br><br>The keratinocytes originate in the deepest layer of the skin, before being pushed up through the skin layers by the formation of new cells. Eventually, the skin cells flatten and die, as they are too far from any blood vessels bringing them nutrients.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Neutrophils are (the most common) white blood cells, a vital part of the immune system.&nbsp;<br><br>They are only animal cells not plant cells. Neutrophils are also transmigratory cells and thus, can slip through blood vessel walls to reach enemies (pathogens). They have&nbsp;a multi-lobed nucleus (and when matured, no nucleoli) connected by thin chromatin filaments<br><br>Neutrophils are "born" within the bone marrow (premature white blood cells are called myelocytes). They make up 70% of white blood cells (leukocytes) and are the primary defence against any invading pathogens. They destroy pathogens by phagocytosis or releasing pathogen-fatal enzymes.<br><br>Neutrophils also mediate inflammation and boost the other immune cells' responses.<br><br>They have a flexible shape (partly due to lack of cell wall) and can change into an amoeboid. This allows for neutrophils to extend their shape to attack invaders (eg. to perform phagocytosis). Within the cytoplasm, there are azurophilic [ie. microbicidal] granules. When a neutrophil consumes an invading pathogen, it's then neutralized by these anti-bacterial granules, preventing it from hijacking/harming the neutrophil.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
