1 Something went wrong? How can you use this mistake to improve your design?

Many things went wrong the past 9 weeks, and I have a tendency to hold onto the past and wish things had been different. And because of that, I don't see the positive in the mistakes. I look at how it "ruined" my life. I know this is a wrong way of thinking, so if I had to use the mistake to improve my design, I would say that I now know what not to do. I know not push things back so much and I know now that if I want to accomplish something, I have to put my all into it.

I am actually finished with my ACT testing. The last one I took was last Saturday, but I walked out of that testing room feeling terrible. I know that I did not study enough for the test , and I also know that I did not get the score that I really wanted. I still feel like a failure and I am extremely disappointed in myself because I know that I could have gotten the score I needed if I had put in more effort. This is the case for many things in my life. I do not put in enough effort to match my expectations.

I have been trying to improve myself, not only academically, but also spiritually and mentally. But I feel like the problems I have in my life currently can't be fixed by myself. I asked my parents many times how I should fix it, and they always say that I should pray to God and ask that He would give me the strength that I need to push through. I've been trying to do things without Him, but I have come to realize that I need His help in every aspect of my life. It's hard for me to depend on others and "lose control" over my life, but I'm going to try to ask for His help and give it up to Him.

4 Not happy with your design? Who can you seek feedback from to make your design better?

I can seek feedback from my parents. My parents are my mentors in life, so if I need guidance, they are always there. I am asking my parents about college frequently these days. I'm asking them what college they want me to go to and what they want me to be. My parents, surprisingly, told me that it doesn't matter what college I go to. They said that as long as I am happy and as long as I am glorifying God, they will be proud of me. When they said that, I realized that my "design" was clouded by academics. All I care about is my grades, what college I get into, and what job I will get. My parents have helped me remember that those are not the things that define me, so they are helping better my "design".

I shouldn't call it a risk, but a risk that I want to take is listening to God more than I listen to myself. This is breaking the rules of Lydia. I am the type of person that needs answers very quickly, but when it comes to God, the answers don't always come when I want/"need" them to come. I want to wait for His answers and His decisions before mine. Even if He doesn't answer my questions for a long time, I will try to be patient.

I find it very tricky to not procrastinate. I am THE biggest procrastinator that you will ever meet, and my procrastination is the root of all my problems. I will try to do things the second I think of them. I won't push it back to "10 minutes later" or say "I can do that later". I won't give myself a second to talk myself out of doing what I have to do. Instead, when I remember to do something, I will sit down and start it right then and there. No excuses.

All my friends are completely different from me. My friends have traits and habits that I do not have, so I can improve my habits by learning from them. I can also learn more from my parents. They give me words of wisdom whenever I need it, so I can learn to grow a positive mindset like them. They also provide perspectives that I don't always think of, so I often learn different ways of looking at things from them.

8 Don’t know what to do? How will you tackle this challenge?

I'm going to try not to worry too much about it. If I look too far into the future, I get confused and worried, so I will focus on the task at hand. If I put my all into what is given to me each and every day, then I am bound to get to a place in my life that I am proud of. Also, if I don't know what to do in the present, I will try not to panic and I will have to look around. A good question to ask myself when I don't know what to do is: Will this benefit me, others, and God? If the answer is yes, then usually it is the right thing to do, so I should follow that.

When I stop procrastinating and it becomes easy, I can challenge myself by trying to do things before they are due. I can try to work ahead and be on top of things. This requires a lot of planning and self-discipline, so it will take a while for me to do it, but I'll try.

10 Proud of your design? Where to next? What are your goals?

I want to get to a place in my life where I do not feel anxious about not doing something or anxious about not putting my full effort into something. My goal is to stop procrastinating and living each day for the moment. I want to stop letting things from the past drag me down and I want to be motivated to live my life to the fullest. I love the feeling I get when I turn in an assignment that I know I tried my hardest. I want to feel that way about everything in my life. I'm sure I will regret some things in the future, but I will try my best to make sure I make a small number of regrets. I want to be the best version of me. And I want to stop worrying about only myself and start worrying and helping other people. My huge goal in life is to make others happy and help those who can not help themselves. I am the happiest when I am helping others. :) I want to become a pediatrician and open up a hospital that provides low-cost surgeries and medication to those that cannot afford it. And everyone who comes to my hospital will receive the best service and treatment. Just because they do not pay full price for a surgery of medication does not mean they deserve a lower quality. My belief is that the patients come before the doctor and before all the money. Doctors are not there to make money. They are there to save lives. These are pretty big goals, so I am going to start fixing my habits one by one, starting now in order to accomplish the vision I have.
