Splendid things are when you have the opportunity to leave school early because you have the senior privilege. I am able to go home and lay down and get the extra sleep I missed or when I can exempt from my exams and not worry abought if will pass or fail the class school becomes easier. Being able to only have a few classes to go to and not be as stressed as I would with seven classes is a splendid feeling it makes me more confident and ready to graduate.

Especially delightful is the first day of senior year at Evans High. I feel the cold air dance on my skin as I enter the front doors where I am greeted by the Principal. I tread through the freshly cut grass while feeling the fleeting heat of my last summer in High School. I walk in and smell the fresh cleanser throughout the building and see my reflection the shining wax glistening on the floor. I see many familiar faces of the friends I've made over the course of my years at Evans High. I hear the laughter of the students when they discuss their adventurous activities that took place over the summer.

awkward is when you mistreat the knock of a door before you enter, entering without the possibility of the unknown. An awkward thing is when you raise your hand confidently in math class to answer a question and you get it wrong and the class starts laughing so you begin laughing that has to be one of the most embarrassing things you can experience. When your sleep in class and the teacher call your name and ask if you are paying attention and you answer yes and then they call on you to read the next chapter and you don't know where the class is, so you look around looking lost is an awkward experience.

Things that have lost their power are the parents. As we enter into our early years of adulthood, our parents must let go of our innocence and childhoods. We have new responsibilities and conflicts that we must face alone. We also have new freedoms and we owe i to ourselves to let loose and enjoy every moment we have left in High School. It is our duty to create nostalgic memories that will make our hearts flutter for a lifetime and stories to tell our children to make them smile. Our parents have lost their power when it comes to thinking for us young adults.

Awkward is realizing that you were confused by an instruction when you're already knee-deep into the action. Every class is like your living in you're own world. Block out everybody except yourself. In a room full of strangers for an hour for 180 days, I don't speak to the majority. I do the work and leave quickly. When learning is life or death. When a piece of paper determines if you pass or fail. When seeing a bad grade in dark black pen would have you worried that your parents would be mad. School is not for everyone, to some, it is life and death. You either do good or you either do bad. School never stops revolving, and is always getting worse.

When I make myself imagine what my life will be like after graduating high school, moving away from home, being more independent, and starting my college career. I feel both large amounts of anxiety and excitement. I am nervous of the unknown and worry about how drastically my life will change but I am also excited for the new adventures and to progress in my life. I also find it unfair to even find feeling this amount of anxiety necessary. It is frustrating for so much of my future to depend on such a short part of my life were sometimes you are forced to make quick, rash decisions.

When I was younger. When I had neighborhood friends playing in the back all the time. But now, gone, All the free time I had when I was younger I will no longer have. Walking into the school knowing that it is the last time you will have a first day of school is a great feeling. Going through all the halls that we know well from our previous years and seeing others that are just now learning their way around the building. Remembering all of the simple things that I forgot from the summer like the smell of the school and the freezing cold air conditioning. I see my friends and so many other people that I've seen in the halls as almost familiar faces. Many of the things that I used to hate like being stuck behind someone slow in the halls or having to go to all sorts of classes now seem like small things that I'll miss. Sometimes the things that seem like a burden or not that important actually tend to turn into things that seem to actually have an effect on you when they are gone.

When it comes to our personal lives and important things that we will need such as cars and different information that we will need in the adult world parents should let go realize we need those things. As a kid growing up we have lost power and control over things and then you see some kids get into the real word and they are lost. These obstacles that are caused by parents makes kids go into depression and they also can suffer from bad decision making and cause bad things to occur such as bad credit and debt in college.

As we come together to learn the basis there's still things we don't understand. Why is it that no matter how much we endure together we turn against our friends. The bonds that I see have secrets behind each wall, internally and externally the lies they show it all. How can you go from being the closest friends to giving away personally events. When you all swore to keep each other's trust you throw it to the fire. Living with humane thoughts ever so fading to this day, never would I think to ever see these type of scenarios. Friendships and relationships are jokes within this school passed around like blunts that I can never understand. After being burnt from another person and knowing their bad actions you still defend the monster that lurks behind our walls. We divide into groups of racism and diversity and looking deeper we even divide over immature social status. Validation is the real close friend that sticks within our peers, how can you do these things to other people and struggle within yourself. We all struggling in some way no need to put one down. This final year proves who you associate with in later life, be smart and make that choice now cause those terrors linger. This reputation has labeled most of our peers and build off that name for their close friend validation. Reflection is a must and ask yourself who you are. Time keeps on moving and does not wait for you, only you can make that change and only you can take ownership of your life.

Especially delightful is the first day of high school. The first day of high school felt like a complete new chapter in my life. The expectations I had for high school because of movies were 50/50, meaning some of the things were true and some of them were false. One thing I liked about high school is it felt like I was free to be myself. In movies the hallways were bright and full of energy and nice people, in high school halls are dark and souless.

Awkward is crying. Awkward is knowing you might be getting laughed at for pain. Especially leaving school to go home because strangely you cant handle but everyone else can. No one can understand your pain. Awkward is crying to someone who actually doesn't care. Awkward is having situations reversed to someone who blindly hated on your pain who now realizes from theirs. The absolute top tier of awkwardness is when you want to ball your eyes out, your body is in so much physical pain and then your actually realize how over dramatic you are!!! Live your life!! Being awkward and anxious in life is my biggest pet peeve and problem at the same time. Everyone's living life for them stay on top living it for you!!

Graduating from middle school and moving to a new, larger building with all of my fresh school supplies and a bright attitude ready to start at a new school. With their hearts beating to the fear of being alone in this new school. Finding the classes was always such a pain since the school was bigger and different than the last. Finding friends, making the day a lot better than you originally thought it was. A day of chilling with no work or homework. The excitement I felt seeing all the different choices of learning, much more than middle school. They lead me to the backyard to let them outside, joyously shaking their tails as I let them outside. They run circles around me begging me to play with them and so I do. I throw their favorite toys, and watch as they run after them trying to catch them mid air. After playing for a while we go inside and spend the rest of the day lounging, and relaxing on the couch. Knowing that after you recieve that last piece of paper from high school you have full control over your life. Decisions have to be made and the best feeling is knowing you have time. This is the day I stepped back and realize how much I've changed for the better. As I walk in knowing in couple of month I would have done it. The dem lighting of high school will never change. They hand out the same yellow schedule unlike the first time I wasn't excited at all. Moving around this once unfamiliar place knowing a couple years ago I thought this day was years away. Suddenly without knowing in front , awaits the year you've been training your whole life for. But forever remember this is far from the end this is just merely the beginning.

But from this day forward we know that we are going to grow to be strong individuals. Become a new us after we walk that stage May 27. The true friends made will stay intouch. The ones who were there to just be there will fade into the distance.

When I imagine what someone else's life may be like I find myself usually being wrong. The things that go on behind closed doors are not written on someone's face which leave us with so much unknown. When I hear myself making assumptions in my head, I am almost always proved wrong by the person I boiled down to a guess. We walk around all day assuming what a person may be like without even realizing we're doing it. It is like second nature for our brains to judge and assume, sometimes without so much as a glance towards a person. But because of the assumptions we make with no knowledge, people are always surprising us. I believe this to be a fun little part of imagining. The constant surprise.

Things that can make my heart beat faster are when I realize that I have a test in a class that I am failing, like Multicultural Literature. I only remember y heart feeling like a ball dropping when I heard Dr. Wood say "clear your table and get ready for the test". Only then does my heart beat faster than any Ford Mustang can beat any Chevy Camaro. One thing that I know for a fact that makes our hearts beat faster is coming home to see our parents or grandparents holding our report cards and asking for our phones to be given up. You get the sudden realization of, "I done messed up..." and then you are hit with the fact that you don't know how long your punishment will be for, or sometimes what your punishment will even be.

I was scared because I never really went to a real public school growing up, but I was ready to get over my fear. Being very shy I wanted to change that, and the only way was to get out of my shell and meet people. As I walked through the doors, I saw all of the decorations hanging in the lunchroom and all of the kids standing around in their friend groups. As the day went on, I was so surprised that public school was less strict than I thought.

Many times in school we get caught up in the work that we have to do and we get worried about how we will get it all done. I have gone to many classes or had many assignments due at a time and it seems easy to worry about getting it all done. I have found out that when I get in those situations I must not worry or look at all the assignments as problems, I instead must start working and get them done one by one. When we focus more on the due date of the assignments instead of just getting the work done then our hearts could race and just keep us worried as the date approaches but if we just get the work done then we will have a lot less worry.

Throughout my life, in school and especially now in high school I have noticed that when I just come in and do my best, school is not that hard. When I get lazy that is when school tends to get difficult and I get behind and lose track of what I am supposed to be doing. This does not just apply to school, but it is where I noticed its effectiveness. It is important that instead of focusing on the bad or how hard things could be we focus on how good we could do and keep going from the rewarding feeling from doing good.

Bringing dark despair and even personal issues to the table, high school has no respect for those who don’t fit the agenda. Just for a little bit of fame, we’ll throw away human decency. Kids act like children but yet swear they are different, claim to be all grown up but still try to fit the agenda. Each room I step into I feel the aura of judgments and prosperity, or even walking in the halls seeing the many different things next to me. Floors that are swept throughout the school leaving no signs of crumbs or spilt applesauce from the lunch room. a clean feeling is being able to smell the fresh scent of citrus from the air freshener thats been sprayed before the class walked in.

That moment when your teacher says "show your best self and best behavior" feeling the beats pump faster and faster as time tik's down. Feeling pressure in your chest pumping in and out with every beat. Waiting for the moments that give you excitement, flow, and a rush. My hands are shaking my peers are running CTAE is about to come in and watch over us. When someone watches you start your achievement they are watching for what you're truly capable of. Not knowing how capable you are is when the wave really hits. Moments right before my palms get sweaty, the nervous tremors have started, the shaky voice I hold in, and the pressure is officially on.

To find one's own style without scrolling for hours on end isolated in a dark room while time slips by, eyes spotting every detail and flaw when looking at the mirror, brain programmed to mask the photoshop and lies into reality constantly wondering why one was "unlucky" or can never look like someone 600000 miles away. Now as I am older I grasp how I have lost and disadvantaged myself over the years, confined in a false reality of perfection and expectations. Ending the power of influence.

The sun shines bright, the birds chirp their joyful song, and the excitement of seeing what the year holds thrums through you. This is the day that will be the last first day of high school. Knowing that you are ten short months from that little piece of paper, so carefully printed, that will mark the ending of the high school years and the start of a new journey. Looking forward to the memories that will be made this last year and looking forward to the bright future that has yet to be written.

Splendid things are when we do for others. The joy that was felt when I joined FCCLA and got the opportunity to help a boy named Lucas who had leukemia is beyond measurable. There are no words to describe the feeling that one gets when doing something completely selfless and in turn it helps a family that is placed in such an imaginable position. The fear parents must feel when knowing their child is fighting for their life is truly heart shattering. Truly an honor it was to be able to help raise money to help take the burden from them, even if just a little. Forever the memories and feelings will last from this splendid experience.

When you are in class, making it look like you know how to do it, but the teacher calls on you to come to the board and show. You are stuck with a red face, and 20 people staring at you. During my high school years I have worked very hard to get to where I am. Striving to keep my grades up so that my GPA will earn me the HOPE scholarship . Excitement of meeting new friends along the way and the new lessons and experiences of what the future holds for me. The closer graduation comes, the happier and more excited I become. Yet at the same time I get sad and just want time to pause, for a split second, so that I could stay with my friends a little while longer, before we walk across that stage and go our separate ways. But in my heart I know we will always stay in touch.

I remember the day we got him just like it was yesterday, a long 3 hour drive to a little country town. So excited upon arriving, I jumped from the car only to see the building doors opened and a super tiny fluff ball running in circles. So tiny and fast that I had almost stepped on him upon entering the building,a mere 2.6 pounds. When we finally were in the car returning home, the little fluff ball was exhausted. He found the fleece hoodie I was wearing to be so comfortable that I turned my hoodie around so that he could sleep in the hood like a little pouch. He enjoyed it so much that he snored in my ear the entire ride home.

Things that makes one's heart beat faster are when you have to present your senior project in front of judges. The anxiety and thoughts of messing up cloud your mind almost bringing you to a point where you might break down. The nerves run through every inch of your body and not knowing what next will happen makes your heart beat even faster. The thoughts of who are my judges? What will they think of my project? Have I done enough to get an A? Brings worry causing one's self to be overwhelmed and mess up during their presentation.

Loud fireworks surround the areas we reside in at exactly 12:00 am on January 1st. The bright colors fill the midnight sky as we all make promises to ourselves , to be successful in the new year , accomplish goals we have never considered even being a possibility, even starting a new routine. Only to realize that 8 out of 10 people give up on these resolutions within the first few weeks. Experiencing that for yourself and realizing trust as well as determination in yourself will help you persevere and accomplish the things you want in life is a significant part of being able to enjoy the way your living.

It felt like just yesterday I was just walking into this school as a nobody. Senior year came so fast and unfortunately has brought many stressful things with it like senior projects, drama, and not knowing what to do after graduation. The teachers tell us they are trying to set us up for the future. In the moment it seems uplifting but it actually sets us up for an overwhelmed mindset causing many to shut down and not do their work. Leading to failing grades, depression, and being unprepared for life after high school.
