My #1 Belief about Education is that it is about co-learning with all stakeholders in education. No one has all the answers, even teachers. Effective learning comes from working as a team towards a collective goal. This will involve the students teaching the teachers. Included in this belief is the idea that instead of trying to compel students to enjoy or engage with (curriculum) ideas, educators can only offer a menu of options of how their knowledge can expand. We cannot control them, but just expose them to something they didn't know before.

My #1 belief about education is that accommodating student learning will be at the forefront in future. I hope that students will be able to learn in environments that are beneficial to their learning styles, such as visual learning, kinesthetic learning, etc.

Everyone learns differently, but that opportunity must be provided for each person across a lifetime to build their capability, confidence, and knowledge for navigating the world. Learning never ends, therefore, we should always find ways to provide educational opportunities for children as well as adults.

My number one belief about education is that it is a place for everyone to learn - not just students, but teachers and other stakeholders as well. I believe that it is important for teachers to recognize that, although they are meant to be teaching many things to students, they also have much to learn from the students. When both students and teachers can create an environment where they can learn from each other, this benefits everyone involved and can create a classroom with mutual respect and success. I believe that teamwork is so important in education and this is one of the ways that it can show up.

My #1 belief about education is that students learn better whenever they are not thinking about grades, passing or failing a course, getting into college or university, etc. Since this is just how it is, it's our job as teachers to help students learn despite the pressure and stress they are often under.

I believe that education should be inclusive and accessible for everyone, ensuring that all learners, regardless of background or ability, have the resources and support they need to succeed. I also think that while it is accessible, it should also be fun where students want to learn the subjects they are being taught and enjoy coming to school and doing the work in class not because of a grade, but because it peaks their interests and are having fun while doing the work.

I believe that students are more likely to engage with their learning when they feel connected to the work. Whether that connection comes from real world relevance, personal interest, or a sense of ownership, it plays a key role in motivation. At the end of the day, teaching is all about the students, their needs, their goals, and their growth. I try to design lessons that are purposeful and give students some choice in how they participate. That means paying attention to who they are, what matters to them, and how they learn best.

My belief is that education is not only about providing children with the tools and knowledge to prepare them for the outside world, but it's to also provide them with a place where they can connect to their peers and develop relationships that can also benefit them for a life time. And if not, to develop the skills necessary to connect with people. School is not just about gaining an education in subjects, but also gaining an education about social skills and imparting wisdom to become functional members of society.

School and Education are non-synonymous, and insofar as that is not meaningfully addressed within an education program and society I find myself not surprised at the negative outcomes that result.

My number 1 belief about education is that all students should be given the opportunity to learn what interests them and should be encouraged to pursue what their talents are without discrimination. Giving all students a chance a success and allowing them to try as many times as they need to complete assignments/projects to show that they understand the course material.
