Many of my students are either ELL or they struggle with reading comprehension. The textbook-provided assessments are very verbose, causing many students to underperform even when they understand the content. For this reason, I have scaffolded my assessment to include shorter, more concise questions to assess their understanding of content. This is an example of one of those types of tests (not related to this particular lesson - we are not yet to the summative stage).
