This is a very cool way to start a book. it gets right into the action. When I read this first line I thought this is definitely a fantasy book so have to keep reading.

He is wearing a plus-size sweatshirt and it is the first day of school so I think he will get made fun of for being overweight.

"On a hairpin turn, above the dead forest, on no day in particular, a white Toyota crashed into a black Mercedes, for a moment blending into a blur of gray."

When I read this sentence, I wanted to finish this book in one day. As I read this sentence, I saw myself in my mind and seeing the Toyota crashing into the Mercedes. My reaction was like "WHAT?" First of all what is a unisphere and why did Taemon's brother try to kill him. from the blurb I know that Taemon and his family have powers and I wondering if Taemon has done something to his brother with his powers and now his brother wants to get him back.
