  • The Age of Exploration made me who I am because my ancestors could have sailed to the Americas.                       
  • When my ancestors sailed to the Americas and started a family in America.

  • With the decline of the Catholic Church a group of European philosophers like John Locke and Thomas Hobbes began to create new ideas about government and society. 
  • These ideas were democratic and were different from early types of government. They argued  that people have certain rights that can't be taken away and that government works for the people. When the government is no longer with the people, it should be over ruled.

  • Reading about this event inspired me to research more about my ancestors and got me asking my family questions.
  • The Age of Enlightenment made me who i am because my ancestors were alive during a period of social/ political disagreements in France.
