         <description><![CDATA[<div>My father was born in Paris, France but grew up on a farm in Vire, France.&nbsp; He came to the USA when he was 22 years old to study the technical aspects of the dairy &amp; food industry.&nbsp; He met my Mom here and never returned to France.&nbsp; In France, people speak French and many people are Catholic.&nbsp; According to the CIA World Fact book, the religion of France is Christian (overwhelmingly Roman Catholic) 63-66%, Muslim 7-9%, Buddhist 0.5-0.75%, Jewish 0.5-0.75%, other 0.5-1.0%, none 23-28%</div>]]></description>

The English Channel (water) is north of Vire and the Atlantic Ocean is to the West.&nbsp; There are many farms around the city of Vire. The latitude and longitude of Vire are 48.844 degrees North and 0.885 degrees West. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Many people left France during WWII.&nbsp; My father was a teeenager during the war.&nbsp; He had to move out of his home for awhile and it was occupied by Germans.&nbsp; The city of Vire was bombed during the Normandy Invasion.  The church steeple in this photo still stands today.</div>]]></description>
