Reflect and Create Activity: "The Contradiction Collage" This activity involves creating a visual collage that represents the contradictory nature of society during the Atlantic slave trade era.•	Research and Collect Images: In pairs, students will research and find images representing two contrasting aspects of the era: the liberal ideas of individual rights and the reality of slavery. This can include pictures of historical figures, documents, and art.•	Create a Collage: Using the collected images, students will create a collage that visually represents the contradiction. Half of the collage should depict the ideals of liberty and individual rights, and the other half should portray the harsh reality of slavery.•	Write a Reflection: Write a short reflection (2 – 3 sentences) explaining the reasons why the pictures were selected for the collage, what each image represents, and how these images together express the contradiction of the era.•	Group Discussion: After completing the collages, the class will have a group discussion about what they learned and how the activity helped them understand the complexities of this historical period.
