By walking around and finding the items, it is intentional for the child to be on the look out for the targeted items. </p><p><br/></p><p>I’ll let the children complete in the <em>loose part</em> activity as I find it interesting and that it will allow them to be innovative in it. </p>]]></description>

We made use of the materials that can be found in the natural environment even though it was conducted indoors. The scavenger hunt was evident as it required us to head outdoors to find the materials on the checklist. </p></li><li><p>I will try the loose parts activity with my class children. As they are of younger age group, most of the natural materials used might not be suitable for them to use. The loose parts activity can be tweaked to use suitable materials instead.</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><p>What can be done if children are unwilling to participate in the outdoor learning activity?          <description><![CDATA[<p>Infants developed fine motor skills, sensory awareness, and creative expression by picking up and exploring various leaves. They also built on their language and literacy skills by engaging with repetitive descriptive words as they listened to the educator describe the colors and textures of the leaves using words such as 'rough,' 'smooth,' and 'soft.'</p><p>A variety of leaves in different shapes, sizes, and textures were provided for the infants to explore. These were placed in shallow trays or plates on the floor, making them easily accessible and allowing the infants to choose freely. Before starting the main activity, infants were given ample time to explore the textures of the paper materials. Throughout the experience, educators asked simple, open-ended questions such as, 'Do you like the texture of this leaf?' to encourage interaction and response. The activity concluded with the infants pasting dry leaves onto DIY frames, supporting their fine motor development and allowing for individual creative expression.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The children explored different loose parts materials such as wood pieces, rings, and sticks. They arranged and combined them to form their own unique designs.</p><p><br/></p><p>The children truly enjoyed the activity, and it was amazing to see their ideas grow when given the freedom to create what they wanted.</p><p><br/></p><p>Through this activity, I learned the importance of letting children explore their imagination and encouraging them to keep creating rather than being satisfied with their first attempt. Many started simply by creating a face with eyes, a nose, and a mouth. But as they explored further, they began adding more thoughtful details such as ears, hair, and cheeks.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Children were given rubber toys as their loose parts and a shape template of their choice to trace around. They were also given the freedom to use the toys to create something they liked, beyond just tracing around the shape. </p><p><br/></p><p>The children truly enjoyed themselves through this activity, and it was fascinating to see the different ideas that they have. Some of them even requested a certain toy that they wished to use for the activity. </p><p><br/></p><p>Through this activity, I have learned that we should not restrict children when it comes to creativity. We should encourage them and even prompt them further, and allow them to come up with different ideas. </p>]]></description>
