That has essentially allowed Goldwin to create a standalone The North Face in Japan, independent of the American brand’s direction. The most impactful result of Goldwin Co.’s Japanese licensing, though, is that it gave rise to a Japanese-exclusive lifestyle diffusion line: The North Face Purple LabeL Purple Label is about presenting that technology in a casual, easy-to-wear collection.
The goal with The North Face Purple Label was then, “to adapt [The North Face] for city wear without compromising the core values of the original.” The label’s use of eclectic prints and more liberal color palettes.
Ultimately, The North Face Purple Label was created to service a niche Japanese market in 2003. In the ensuing decade and a half, thanks in large part to the internet, it has come to represent the cool side of The North Face for those outside of Japan. It’s the collection that we North Americans and Europeans can’t get our hands on—or at least struggle to get our hands on—after seeing the latest lookbook drop and thinking, “Wait, The North Face did that?”. The North Face Renewed is a collection of clothing refurbished to Like-New condition. It's the quality you expect from The North Face with less impact on the earth.

STEP 1: PRE-SORT
Products are selected for renewal. Everything that can't be renewed is upcycled through the REMADE collection, donated or recycled.
STEP 2: SORT
With a more critical eye, technicians inspect garments to identify issues and prepare them to be refurbished.
STEP 3: IDENTIFY
Sort techs match products to their original data. If a style has been recalled or has known quality issues, it will removed from production. New bar codes are added to track renewal and impact data.
STEP 4: CLEAN
Garments are cleaned to factory grade standards either using the Tersus CO2 cleaning system or high capacity commercial washing machines.
STEP 5: INSPECT
Repair technicians identify the processes that need to take place to restore garments to LIKE-NEW condition. Repairs are assigned based on time, complexity and capacity.
STEP 6: REPAIR
Garments are repaired based on standards provided by The North Face quality control team.  Highly trained sew technicians ensure that all aspects of the repair meets or exceeds The North Face requirements.
STEP 7: FINISHING
Finishers polish garments up removing any signs of lint, loose threads, or wrinkles.
STEP 8: QUALITY ASSURANCE
Quality assurance certifies that every garment meets or exceeds TNF standards and there are no signs of exterior visible repairs, defects or imperfections.  Although extremely rare, if something is missed they offer Free Returns and a One Year Warranty.

The REMADE collection is a line of creatively repaired, one of a kind styles created by upcycling The North Face products and fabrics in new ways. This collection is made possible by the designers who participated in the 2019 Design Residency.

Boa Lacing System: The Boa lacing system is use predominantly on their footwear and they’ve also implemented in into their daypacks. This system is made with “replaceable, ultra highstrength, stainless steel lace cables that slide easily through the patented elongated lace guide.” This technology is renowned for its performance and durability in snow, water, and ice and works like a suspension system. 

TNF doesn't use colours for branding identity . They have used a wide range of colours for their products. Organic design is centered around using nature as the biggest inspiration. It has been around since humans first began making tools, as early humans were working with the forms that nature provided them. Organic design saw a resurgence in the 1930’s through the works of Frank Lloyd Wright. He wanted his work to “create harmony between people and nature and regarded architecture as a means of achieving a perfect balance between the man made and natural worlds.” His work was just the beginning of what organic design could become. Although he may not have used smooth curves and organic forms, he saw the potential in bringing nature into his work. The beauty of organic design is that it is not limited by its medium. This aesthetic can be applied to architecture, furniture design, product design, typography and art.

As modern organic design evolved from Frank Lloyd Wright, its definition broadened. It was not just about achieving harmony between people and nature, but also incorporating natural forms and materials into design. “It often imitates naturally occurring structures such as: cellular, netted, skeletal or crystalline. It leaves behind classical heavy weight-bearing structures and adopts constructions that seem to be more elastic and free. Recurrent methods include flowing lines and soft shapes, asymmetrical construction, plastic volumes and dynamic forms.“ As our tools and processes evolved, designers, engineer’s and artists are now able to work with more and more complex forms and materials. This has opened up endless possibilities as to what organic design can.

IN BLACK SERIES, THEY USED SYNTHETIC MATERIAL CALLED TYVEK WHICH IS KNOWN FOR ITS LIGHTNESS AND DURABILITY, TEAR RESISTANT , WATER AND WINDPROOF.  SO, I WILL CHOOSE POLYESTER MAINLY FOR MY DESIGNS DUE TO SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FABRIC. 
THE GENERAL IDEA IS MULTIFUNCTIONAL DESIGNS WITH SOME DETACHABLE PARTS WHICH CREATE NEW ITEMS LIKE BACKPACK, HANDBAG, YOGA MAT, TRAVEL NECK PILLOW... AND CAN TRANSFORM THE GARMENT TO A DIFFERENT LOOK. THIS IDEA IS COMPATIBALE WITH TECH-SAVVY URBANITES WHO LIKE EVERYTHING IN ONE PACKAGE.
