I learnt how to work under pressure for the two weeks they have given me.

Although it was a very stressful two weeks the opportunities that I have gained new skills that I could use in the future. I feel as though the work experience taught me how quick something so simple can turn into a major problem.

I have had the opportunity in working at a fashion retail store called I & A fashion.

I have learnt a great deal on team work, how to conduct myself in a business enviroment and workplace as well as managing my time effectively. I have also improved on my interpersonal skills as I was constantly interacting with customers and helping to make their shopping experience better and worthwile. As a result, I feel I have improved my customers servce skills and communication skills, which is great as I can transfer that knoweldege and experience to my micro business.

My main roles within the work placement was interacting and helping with the customers, re-stocking and managing the new stocking coming.

Some of my tasks were steaming items of clothing, pricing donations, so that they could be sold and serving customers on the till. I enjoyed my time working at the charity shop as it was very relaxed and I got on well with the customers and the staff, who were all very nice. During work experience I learnt how to conduct myself whilst working in an office  enviornment and around vulnerable people and that working in a professional manner is a must as you are constantly representing the company brand/image.
I really enjoyed my time at Eagle Care because not only did it challenge  me as I have not worked in an office enviornment before but it allowed me to come out of my comfort zone and gain new knowledge on the skills you will need inorder to be a success whilst working in such a fast paste office enviornemnt meeting deadlines.

I helped with the events such as Woman to Woman & the Gospel Awards. I organised the hamper for the giveaway for the Woman to Woman conference.

Since Premier Praise was turning a year old, I organised the ‘party’ by looking for balloons, decorating the studio and ordering the cake. I helped a lady purchase tickets over the phone for the Digital Awards that is taking place this year. At the Gospel Awards last Saturday, I handed the awards to the presenters & making sure the presenters knew what time they were on and the running order. I uploaded jobs onto the Jobsite section. On one of my colleagues last day, I had to make a reservation at a restaurant which helped to build my confidence.

I felt proud of myself by being the youngest brand ambassador. In this work experience we pre-retailed and organised the store, pre retailing consisting on opening boxes;
counting items; tagging clothes and sealing then in the right boxes. This process took us 2 weeks and more than 60000 items were processed. In the following weeks we were trained and we worked in stores selling while waiting to be moved to "The Store of the Future". I met Gigi Hadid a super model (women´s wear ambassador). I found it interesting as it involved communicating with people. I enjoy working with people as I am a very positive individual and talking and communicating with people helped me reaveal my potential. The atmosphere I worked in was very relaxing and this also helped me feel good. The work was hard which made me learn how difficult it is to earn money. Overall i found it very usefull as it gave me life lessons that I will never forget. I also found out that work experience can be really usefull.

Working at Grant Thornton’s was an intense process but did however allow me the opportunity to improve my interpersonal skills in which I can use to better my entrepreneurial relationships. As well as this, I have also gained experience into how stressful things can be within a working environment such as Grant Thornton’s. This may however have been due to me being on work experience which may have been the reason as to why I was not involved as much as I could have been.

I was also able to spend time with the director and other workers and find out more about the business’ history. During my time at The Rain Clouds I got an insight to what it takes to run a business and how much effort has to be put into the business to make sure that it keeps on succeeding.
