Interpretation:
America is a place, where you can find a new home, be free and follow your dreams.

Perspective:
The text "How lucky you are" is opposite to this song, since it tells the story of deportation, which obviously is the dark side of immigration. Illegal immigration is also an example of the dark side.

We see things similar today. A lot of African men for example move to Europe to get a more comfortable life.

Much like in Clothes where the characters wish to pursue happiness in America, the song portrays a similar message.

Lots of people are emigrating to America for example, not necessarily because their country is unsafe, because they want to have a better life.
