Dear Ms. Caparosa,

Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with our class today. I attended on Zoom and truly appreciated the opportunity to learn from your experiences in social media and brand strategy.

One of the most impactful things I learned from your presentation was the 70-25-5 rule, I have never heard of that before, and it helped me understand how to strategically plan content to balance engagement, education, and promotion. This is something I can directly apply to my class project, the quiet shelf blog I’m going to be posting on soon, and it will help me in my future career interests in marketing. I also found it inspiring that you have your own company where you help other businesses reach their goals on social media, as well as your podcast that builds your brand and allows you to connect authentically with audiences. Hearing about the three types of hooks to gain views and your emphasis on authenticity, especially during the post-Covid world, really connected to what we have been learning in class about building trust and standing out in a crowded digital space.

Thank you again for sharing your expertise and giving us valuable insight into real world strategies.

Best,

Peyton Cirillo

Hi Ms. Caparosa,

Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with our class! I unfortunately was unable to be there in person because I am attending a wedding celebration, but I watched the Zoom recording afterward and really appreciated that you let Dr. Burns record it for us.

I loved how you talked about the importance of engagement from the creator’s side when it comes to responding to comments or interacting with similar content. It really made me think about how much that kind of genuine effort helps build relationships with your audience. I also thought your point about captioning and giving people a reason to engage was so smart, and as you mentioned, especially since people love to share their opinions on social media (sometimes a little too much). I definitely notice myself interacting with giveaway posts where all you have to do is drop a comment as it’s such an easy way to get involved.

In my internship right now, I’ve been working on finding the right channels to engage with and making sure to repost content on LinkedIn to help expand our reach across platforms. What you shared gave me some great ideas for being more intentional about that.

Thanks again for sharing your time and insights, and I really enjoyed your talk!

Best,
Emily Adorno

Dear Ms. Caparosa,

Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with our class! I really enjoyed hearing about your experiences, especially as a content creator and podcaster.

I had no idea how much goes into producing a podcast, especially on the creator side with social media engagement and brand building. I also learned how important it is to hook your audience right from the start, whether it’s through short-form or long-form content, and how short-form videos can drive people to engage with your full podcast episodes.

Since I’m creating a podcast for my class project, I’m excited to apply what I learned from you to make my content more engaging and intentional. I want to focus on crafting strong hooks that immediately capture the listener’s attention. We are hoping to promote our podcast on many social media platforms, so it will be good to think about how to use short-form clips to drive people to our full episodes.

Thanks again for sharing your insight and experiences with us!

Best,

Maeve Campbell

Dear Ms. Caparosa,

Thank you so much for taking the time to speak to our class about the ins and outs of successful content creation. Your breakdown of how to divide content for maximum reach and engagement really stood out to me. I have definitely noticed some of the strategies you mentioned, like participating in trends and sharing authentic and vulnerable moments, within the content of some of my favorite brands and influencers, and your explanations helped me understand what makes them so successful! Hearing directly from someone working in content creation was especially helpful as we begin our own content creation projects for class this upcoming week. Your tips on consistency, grabbing attention, and building audience connection very much align with the trends we've started to discuss in class, and I'm excited to get to apply them to my own work. Thank you again for sharing your experience and expertise!

Sincerely,

Jordan Cuddy

As a bit of a perfectionist, I often hesitate to post because I want my content to perfectly reflect me. Your message helped me realize that people are messy, and starting with imperfect content will only humanize my brand for my audience and build more trust. Real success comes from showing up, learning from analytics, and being open to trial and error.

Thank you again for sharing your time and insight with us.

Hi Ms. Caparosa,

As someone already working within the field of social media marketing, I thoroughly enjoyed listening and watching your presentation! Something that has really racked my brain through this whole process has been creating new content each and every day. Using a podcast for example is such a great way to create loads of content and your example of that was very important in growing my view of creating new content. One of the things that also really changed my perspective was the view of perfection. Working for a business who tries to push professionalism in every aspect, it’s hard sometimes to get my videos approved due to small little things such as a camera shake. Having the knowledge to advocate even for these imperfections are so important for me as it really can cause a shift in the analytical perception in our videos, and will never know unless we try. Thank you again for coming back to the classroom to show us just that bit more in how to become a successful social media creator.

Thank you,
Matt Boguski

I was unable to join the Zoom meeting, but I watched the recording and learn a lot from your lecture. I think the biggest takeaway I got was the 3 types of hooks you explained. No other class broke it down for me in that much depth, and it's something that I will definitely be using. For example, the piece of advice you shared about how a bad hook tells where a good hook teases was very helpful.

Thank you for spending your afternoon teaching us!

-Luke Sennott

I was able to attend the zoom as it went on, and was honestly happy / relieved to see someone who has a career based around what I would like to do after college. One of the things that stuck out to me was the slide about the different types of hooks. I have been running multiple social media pages for a while, and even started a new one for class; they are all personal but any content I make I would want to reach a lot of people, and I have never heard a professional talk about different ways to reel people in. I am making a tiktok page where I talk about movies, shows or music, and we need a minimum of 50 views per video, so your advice will definitely come in handy. I was also a bit surprised (pleasently surprised) to see a positive way of using AI for video creation. If I am ever pressed for time, I will for sure check out Poppy AI or Descript for editing. I just want to thank you again for taking time to talk to us.

Respectfully,

Anthony Gurino

Being able to have a full period over Zoom discussing social media as a whole and all the strategies behind it was something I found very useful. As someone in a similar field currently and looking to increase my knowledge and grow my skills, your presentation and advice were very insightful. Something especially interesting was seeing how your strategies differed based on how your clients' needs shifted. Obviously, this sounds really obvious, but seeing how you go about it and what strategies you then introduced is fascinating. Something else I learned and checked out after the meeting is one of the programs you talked about, Metricool. It seems like a really cool tool that I went and sent to my media group chat for work. Overall, all the information you gave to us was very interesting and useful, and I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to talk to us.

Thank you again,

Ryan Lopano
