We had to collaborate with a partner and solve as many challenges as possible using pythagoras' theorem for answers.

There was an element where you had to figure out what you had to do to solve the equation which was challenging on some questions to do.

I got the roles of Form Prefect, Vice Hockey Captain and Head of House and was one of the few people who got three positions.

Remembrance

On the Friday remembrance chapel there was a member of my form who felt ill, so I recognized it and went over and helped her by taking her out and giving her fresh air. I did not make it back in for the end so I apologized to the 2nd speaker for missing it and thanked the 1st for his inspiring message.

Science: Exam Revision

In science we had to go through all of the questions that we lost marks down on a piece of paper and our total marks for that section. I took a bit longer than everyone else to finish but I made it very detailed. Now for my next exams that is a solid resource and guide for what to look at next time.

Drama: Nativity

I was asked along with another 7 people to help out write the year 8 Nativity.

I have communicated well with my scene partners Toby and Byron to come up with a scene that is full laughs but still is recognizable as the classic 3 wise men scene.

I communicated with the other people in my year who weren't happy with their lines or parts and molded their scenes to their content.

I didn't understand how to do the calculations so instead of rushing on to the next sheet and then to the Dr Frost I took my time with learning the rules and when everyone got on to the 4th question they got stuck and asked Mrs Lauder whereas I had thoroughly checked the mothods so pushed on through and got it right.

I had a star entry to the STEAM fair 2024 and I looked into the physiological reasons you would choose each category. I reviewed the positives and negatives of the competition and ideas that could make it better for next year.

In our PSB lessons I sit next to Martha and she has a difficulty with spelling so I made a doc for her so she can use dictation and list down words she finds hard to spell.

At the Ballard football tournament we won all of our matches accept one where we drew 0-0.

I played in goal for 3 out of 5 matches and no one scored against me in the duration.

On 2 of the matches I came up and scored and goal in both. I went for goal keeper to goal scorer.

In maths I missed half a lesson for a flute exam and half of it for a flute lesson so I missed a lot of work so when I came back in after my flute lesson I inderpendantly got on with all of the work I missed and got it all right!

Hockey: Tournament

In an end of term hockey match with the middles and seniors I was captaining a team and we won 1 match 7-0. 5-0 in the first third but we were winning by so much that only our Y5 defender could score. In the socond match we won 5-1.

Canford Hockey

In the annual canford hockey tournament we were invited for the first time at the start of the year we showed up with only one hockey training session and a goal keeper who had stepped forward on the bus journey there. we lost the first 4 matches out of our 5 in our pool. But we assessed the situation and came back in our final match with our first goal and 2-1 loss.

On my last ever hockey match I got to captain as our hockey captain was away. I was against Embley school and we won 6-1.

I am a defender and usually left because our captain Miri is mid but this time I got to go up and help out. Our attackers were getting tired and a route opened up so I took the ball up and scored the last 2 goals. And we won!

We were at 0-0 at half term so we decided to make a communication system, if one person has the ball you call and the ball holder passes to the other side. we came out with a 3-0 win.

In maths there was a quiz question and was a simple multiplication but I wanted to find through a longer method so after the quiz I worked out all of the possible words.

In art we have to do an end of year project and I was curious to see what types of project I could do. I reaserched because I had extra time as I finished my anime project early. I decided to combine collage and acrylic an area of unknown and one of familiarity.

On the maths revision paper that we did I got stuck on a few questions so instead of asking the teacher immediately I went over it twice and if I still didn't understand I used the model answers on Google classroom to compare and see what I did wrong.

Art: Schollarship Piece

In art scholars last term I did an acrylic painting that did not really challenge be from the painting aspect but the drawing was more difficult nonetheless I decided to try a different type of art and went with a tissue paper collage I reaserched it carefully and found a beautiful blossom tree where I get to paint a textured bit which is harder.

In drama STRETCH this term we are doing 'As You Like It' by William Shakespear, and we had our auditions last week and Mrs Usher, our drama teacher for my audition piece because she said it stood out and was really well prepared and because of that I got Rosalind in the performance. She is the main character and I was very pleased.

In French we had our exam and I worked really hard for it and I believe I did really well, I wrote 200 words instead of 90 and kept trying to see where I could make it better. I forgot what the word for tommorow but I revised some time connectives and now know them all off by heart.

On our spring mocks I really improved since last time, I used the papers to identify the key focus points for revision and then revised those. there is definitely still room for improvement but I am really pleased with my scores and methods. My average went from 65% to 79% which I was really happy with.

PRE: Revision

In PRE before our exam we had a lesson to revise and I made a Quizlet set which the whole class used. I turned it into a quiz so me and Isla could go back and forth over it answering the questions until we got 100% on the mini quiz, this type of revision really worked as I got 72% in the actual test which I was proud of.

English: Shakespeare Profile

For our English homework we had to do a report on the life of Shakespeare and Elizabethan fashion. everybody did the same facts but I looked back through my book to see what I had already done and expanded the points and made them full of cool facts and information.

French: Quizlet

For each of our French exams we have a set of vocab that we have to learn to get the extra marks in the exam. I took the liberty to turn the vocab sheets into sets so everyone could revise it and have access to it. this helped a lot for some people and made me feel really happy when they thanked me for makeing the sets and helping with their results.

STRETCH: Late

I arrived late to drama STRETCH on Thursday after my singing concert and I missed the session last week so I didn't know where we were. I got stuck in with my lines and tried really to pick up in the middle of the scene and got stuck in. Mrs Usher came up to me the next day and told me how impressed she was.

Pancake Day

On Pancake Day we have a house pancake race which we came 4th in. I was still really proud of them as they tried really hard. We had a really close finish with Cavell, but they were amazing and deserved to win! It is better to come 1st to last than 3rd to first in my opinion.

Tech: Wood project

In tech we had an inderpendant project to create using a single piece of wood. I chose to make a coat peg for my sisters' door as she doesn't have one. I created it in a flower design and panted it pink to match her room. She loved it.

PSB: Paper Project

In PSB we had to follow complicated and very vague instructions to make a piece of twisted paper, I collaborated with Fabian to come out being the two of the few people to complete the task and be resilliant.

SMC: Southhampton Maths Challenge

It was a real challenge and I struggled slot but I perseveres and found an unecesarily complicated but successful method which I believe worked well. It took me over an hour to complete the question in a 30 minute homework. My teacher was really impressed with my dedication even if my answer was 100% off!

IAPS: Netball

In IAPS we were not doing amazingly we had lost all matches except from 1 where we drew. we were really disheartened and willing to give up after we got put in the bottom tier. Because we were bound to loose anyway we decided to switch up positions. I was curious to see what it would be like going from defender to attacker so I asked if I could switch and I scoured every goal. I was really proud of my efforts even though I went back to WD after the 1st half. We were playing really well after a strong start in the 1st half and we came out of it winning that match and the boat!

IAPS: Netball

At IAPS netball we were given cards on which we were supposed to write our player of the tournament from another school that stood out and played really well. No other school did it must us. I chose a girl from CHEAM, because she was really good at playing all different positions. She really deserved all the recognition.

In netball we had to collaborate with people who aren't usually ion our team or who we don't usually play with but we did a mixed team drill and the defenders collaborated to stop the three attackers from getting three passes in the box. Although we weren't successful every time, we worked really well and had a great structure to our play.

PE: Invasion Games

In PE we were doing Invasion games, (basketball), and we had to make a game using hoops. We could review and improve to make the game more structured as at the start there were no rules. Our team added rules and they benefited the game work that we created as a team. There wasn't really a captain as we felt no need because we were working really well of each others ideas and moment. we won all of our games and I was really proud.

On maths Pi day we had a maths lesson where we had to draw a perfect circle using only a pencil. I figured out two methods that work and combined them to make a perfect circle. I won because it came down to the most accurate and pretty and my competitor's circle was not as pretty as mine!
