I had a staff to leave and another staff that was on maternity leave. I had to jump into a role that I had no experience with and pickup new things as I go. The down fall for that was I did not know if I was doing my job the correct way or not. Another experience I have with active learning would be me playing softball. I was not good at the sport to begin. I have to learn the rules and special skills so that I can be proficient at it. I also have to answer to my manager. While working I notice that my manager was never around and always wanted to boss the staff without knowing what was going on. When I became the boss of the staff that is under me, I decided to not treat my staff the way that we were treated. I wanted to be involved with them. Another experience I have with constructive learning would be if I have questions about my school work and need to know more on it. Once I have the information that I need, I try to learn it in a way that allows me to pick up on it better. Base of the text, you need people to help and assist so that you can learn better. It helps a person to gain more. A lot of the test that schools put on student, like myself, experience testing anxiety because of the individuality they "encourage" students to have. On the other hand, I have a good experience with cooperative learning as well. I would rush to learn the materials so that I can make an A on my test, but I would not know what I learned at the end of it. I could not even teach it to someone if I wanted to. I think that we are making learners built to get the information that they need at the moment and making excuses for them so they do not have to retain it or learn it meaningful. I have done this a few times with my basketball team that I coach. If we are in a game, I will teach them a play and tell them to forget the other rules/ things that I have taught them so that they can win the game. I think that is is good and bad at the same time. I wanted to leave Memphis so I set the goal to make good grades so that I can accomplish that goal. I also give my staff goals so that they can strive to accomplish and I encourage them to set their own goals in life for school. Setting goals just gives you that push to want to accomplish it. My next goal is to graduate university.
