Woman. We had a LOOONG road until we had the voting rights we now have. And some women still don't, but that's a story for another time.
The Women's Suffrage Movement impacted society a LOT! I mean, if you read the first sentence, you would understand that we eventually got our rights. This act impacted society today, because we can vote now! If it weren't for them, we wouldn't be able to do this, and I think this country would have had some terrible, terrible presidents. Also, if we hadn't gotten the right to vote, we would probably not have very many other rights, like other places in the world like Pakistan, because men would have probably began to think they had SOO much power, so why not take away some other rights! SO. DUMB!
So thank you to all the women who participated in giving us the right to vote, because without you, we may not have any other rights we do have today! Yay!

In the 1840s, men believed that a woman's job was to stay home and take care of kids and cook. Nothing else. women wanted to change this. Elizabeth Cady Stanton led the women's suffrage movement to get women's rights to vote. Today women are actually allowed to vote because of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Lucy Stone, and whole lot of other brave women. "If you will not give the whole loaf of justice to the entire people, if you are determined to extend the suffrage piece by piece, then give it first to women." Susan B. Anthony. This took a long time.

For woman the path to suffrage was very long and hard, but we deserve it. It impacted our world today more than I can say. Before Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and other strong woman we had to deal with "True womanhood." True womanhood was when women had to stay at home, take care of the children, clean, and do other chores. It was also ladylike to not vote. In fact it was illegal to. Unsurprisingly, women didn't think this was fair. They used many non-violent strategies to try become free from these unfair laws. They held marches, conventions, meeting, protests, and many other events to try to get the word out there.

Starting in the early 1800's, women decided that it wasn't fair that they couldn't vote, even though men could. They were tired of being confined to the house, tired of being treated like servants. So they started the Women's Suffrage Movement. This impacted the world as we know it today. SEveral women, such as Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B Anthony, and Alice Paul fought for women's right to vote. For years and years they reasoned with the government, with men, with anybody who would listen. After pain, hard work, and time, in March 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment was made. Women could finally vote. With these committed women, the right for women to vote became reality.
