Some cancers are considered viral such as Epstein-Barr virus, human papilloma virus, hepatitis B virus, and human herpes virus-8 are the four DNA viruses that are capable of causing the development of human cancers.
One doctor, Dr. Tullio Simoncini, has even stated that he believed cancer is a fungus on the grounds that Cancer is a fungus that will do what all fungi do − form colonies and spread throughout the host area.
Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body. Cancer develops when the body's normal control mechanism stops working. Old cells do not die and instead grow out of control, forming new, abnormal cells. These extra cells may form a mass of tissue, called a tumor.  
There is not one common known cause as to why a person gets cancer, but it is guaranteed that none of us are immune to it.  One can only hope that with the increase of modern technology, that one day cancer can be completely eliminated from the increasing list of human pathogens.
