I selected the lady lifting her shirt who is black and when she takes off her shirt, the lady turns into a white lady image. I first noticed how quickly the lady changes her skin color once she took off her shirt, and then I see a picture of Dove in the right bottom corner advertising their products- basically saying if you're dirty use Dove and you will be cleansed to be a white person; pure. This makes me think how in the world did the creator of this ad thought this was okay. Because this makes me feel angered how someone can think they can create this kind of photo and think they will get away with it. The creator thinks it is okay that the best skin color and person is a white person and every other race is dirty. Which is false, and low.

I first noticed on the image of a African American woman in the upper left corner taking off her shirt, but then when I looked down at both the bottom left and right corners, her skin just changed really quickly into a light skin color. I do also noticed the "Dove" body soap bottle in the corner, advertising the product that it can clean off the darker skin tone, just to become a white person. This makes me shocked and quite angry because I guess that's kinda offensive to people with color. I do think everyone wanted some respect and trust.

I wonder what exactly does the image has anything to do with the product, because from what I see literally nothing about it that advertises the product. I guess it can show that Dove makes your skin "perfect" and that perfect means being white. But then that just raises another question on what made them think that was a good idea. Overall, the entire advertisement makes me incredibly uncomfortable.

I selected this image because its telling others that anything dark-skinned is considered 'weirdly' and that you should 'clean' yourself to look more better, hence encouraging that a black person to a white person is inferior, in a advertisement. At first glance, I can imagine someone taking a few seconds to realize what the advertisement actually meant, and I can imagine their reaction to this would be bad, maybe cringe-level. This honestly makes me feel a bit cringe, considering it's thy DOVE, the brand for cleaning your skin. I find it kind of funny and ironic that I use this brand of shampoo/body wash, and I Totally would have not assumed a brand like this would do a advertisement specifically for anti-blackness. It makes me think of what other people during that time when the advertisement felt and thought at the time it was advertised. It honestly really gives me another perspective of Dove, and now I could have doubting thoughts about them now and then, probably.

I noticed that it just happens to be that a black woman is on the before side and there is a white woman on the after side. Not only that, but the quote at the bottom states that you will have more visible and beautiful skin. This also implies that white is superior over black. This makes me confused and it makes me think of how they are able to get this through and use this as a way to advertise their products.

I feel like the ad is implying that if you use the soap your skin becomes fairer and whiter. This is showing how the brand thinks having whiter skin is more superior or better. Just from this picture it makes me feel uncomfortable and mad because all skin colors are beautiful and shouldn't be defined as "dirty" or "ugly" based a skin color a person has. I know this because the "fair-skinned" definition is a person having relatively pale/white skin. Many people use the word "fair skin" to describe Disney princesses who are mainly white. While having those words next to a black woman makes me wonder why they would try to advertise lightening skin in a present-day ad. This makes me feel stunned because to this day people of color face colorism just for a lotion ad which is not right at all.
