1. This course will be valuable to learn new ways to present material to students, both virtually and in person. This course will introduce me to new resources that I can implement into my classroom moving forward. I feel that remote learning, in some capacity, will be a part of education from here on out, so I want to keep growing my understanding and building my toolbox of skills in regards to this topic.

2. My intention in this course is to listen to how others were successful, research and learn about quality teaching ideas, and then redesign my teaching strategies for more student success.

1. As many have said, I believe that some form of remote learning will always be a part of our educational system in the future. I had originally looked at the past 18 months as an anomaly -- something I never wanted to repeat. I did not fully arm myself with resources for the future. I know this course will be valuable to me because by taking the course, I am preparing myself for a future that is highly likely to involve remote teaching.

2. I believe that the NH Department of Education has taken an important step by offering this course in order to prepare us for a future that likely includes more remote teaching and learning. Working with and learning from a cohort of teachers from around the state will help us all be prepared as we enter a fairly uncertain future. My goal is to learn from my fellow teachers and to be prepared by having a handful of strategies and tools ready to go.

I hope to learn skills and gain resources to be able to set up online instruction that can mirror/supplement in class learning. I sometimes have students that are supported on extended home visits in preparation for transition or discharge from residential care. It would be great to have my lessons already prepared in an online format for those students to engage in remotely instead of compiling learning packets as needed. I also have students that prefer the online format and would love to increase their access to preferential learning by setting up an online platform that can be easily navigated and tailored to their needs.

2. My goal for this course is to engage meaningfully to be able to incorporate my learning into long term practice.

How do you predict this course might be valuable to you?

This course will be valuable to help me navigate different technology tools to support different learners. Remote learning has shifted ideas to improve on strategies for classroom practice and instruction for face-to-face or virtual learning. I like the idea of having an art lesson with step-by-step tutorial videos for students to access. Students can review Google Slide to have an in-depth understanding of the content. In addition, I would like to have technology tools for the 21st-century classroom where the teachers are the facilitators and the students are the driver of their education. Students with personalized learning are more likely to focus on goals for success.

What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course?

My goals are to implement technology tools to improve student's skills. I learned to utilize technology tools to improve on strategies for in-person and remote learning during the pandemic. I realized that middle school students do not fully understand how to navigate a Chromebook device. There were challenges for students to take pictures of the work on the Chromebook. The idea for students to find the file and attach it to TURN IN on Google Classroom caused frustration. I want students to be versatile with different technology tools to create, engage, and share ideas. They can apply technology skills with real-world concepts. This will help them use new technology skills for jobs or college applications.
