Direct human activity such as hunting and clearcutting.

Overhunting for sport or for food/furs can greatly impact the taiga food chain.

Climate change effects the wildlife because if the temperature/precipitation changes too much plants and animals can't adapt.

The worst threat is people cutting down trees to use for lumber. Clearcutting is the worst form of logging, clearing entire sections of forest. Clearcutting increases the risk of erosion and flooding. Without a root system to anchor it, a taiga's soil can be blown away by wind or worn away by rain or snow. This exposes the bedrock and permafrost beneath the taiga, which does not support many forms of life.

Resin from fir and larch trees is used to make turpentine. Resin from fir trees is also used to make a produte that

gluses pieces of glass together to make lenses for glasses. The bark from a hemlock tree is used for tanning leather.
