Defender is a horizontally scrolling shooter video game developed by Williams Electronics in 1980 and released for arcades in 1981. Inspired by the 1960s television show The Defenders, Eugene Jarvis titled the game Defender, reasoning that the title helped justify the violence. He added astronauts to expand on the space theme and give players something to defend while they shot enemies.

Defender has only five levels. As the game progresses, more aggressive enemies enter the playing area. To stay alive past 30,000 points, you'll need to know how to use each of the controls. Your basic objective is to kill all the Landers on the screen to complete an attack wave. You stay in one solid pov the whole time, your character isn't named.

pros of the game are that it's straightforward and simple. there aren't really any complex puzzles and its easy to follow with a good strategy.

a con would be that it is really short being that it has 5 levels.

5. DEFENDER: sound effects

The sound effects are very oldschool arcade game-like almost similar to some of the sounds within pacman. It is very futuristic, like when you're using lasers to shoot. There is no music and the "level done" sound consists of what is called "sqare waves" with a slight ringing. The shooting sound itself is also pretty high pitched.

Defender 1981 was one of the most important titles of the golden age of arcade video games. It sold over 55,000 units to become the companys best selling game as well as one of the highest-grossing arcade games ever, earning over $1 billion. There are still some people who hold onto this gem and play it and there are many inspired games based off of this so its legacy will live on.

This early digital image design is in a pixelated style similar to Defender. It is very simplistic and has a large use of black and white. In a way, it gives off an oldschool look because of the pixels as well.

the ai in the software is also finicky

Pros: It's an expansive, gorgeous sandbox with time-tested and wildly popular gameplay. Cons: Could prove too challenging for some and too taxing for older computers

The sound effects to Civ V is very medieval sounding. There are lots of sounds for actions and notifications like when your borders expand or when you're adding a new policy. The music as well in some parts sound like a recreation of the 1450s, or what is considered "medieval times".

Second Life is a free 3D virtual world and original metaverse where users can create, connect, and chat with others. It relates to civilization v because of similar elements on how the characters look. They both have a 3D design of the whole characters. The only difference is how civilization v mainly sees the characters in a first person POV.
