Another thing I learned is that there were actually almost double the pilgrims at the feast than native Americans. Plus, that it may have been goose, or another foul, served at the feast, and the Native Americans might have not been there at all. What I know is there are many possibilities for things to be wrong, but what's wrong with thanksgiving? I don't really care what happened back then, what I know now is that it's important to give thanks for the wonderful technologies, easy access to most things, and over all the wonderful country we live in. That's what I think it's about. So why do we need to now every last detail about the "First thanksgiving"? It would take a lot of typing to list all of the things I learned I will simply share the items from the article we read in class today that I found the most interesting.
1. First off, near the start of this article I learned that what most people consider to be the First Thanksgiving wasn't really the first Thanksgiving because Native Americans and Europeans already often celebrated their harvest.
2. The next most interesting think I learned was that there wasn't evidence that the Native Americans had been invited to feast at all. This surprised me because in all of the version of the "first" Thanksgiving it said that they invited the Native Americans so I thought it must be true.
3. Lastly, the role of Squanto surprised me because it is no where near how he was shown in the movies about Thanksgiving I would watch every year in the fall growing up. It must've been really sad to find his tribe dead from smallpox.

Why didn't Squanto get Smallpox in Europe since that's where it was brought to the Americas from?

-That Plymouth was already a village with clear fields and a spring when the Pilgrims found it. Because every single native person who had been living there was dead becuase plagues had wiped them out.

- The Pilgrims didn't invite the Native Americans for helping them reap the
harvest. The truth of how they all ended up feasting together is unknown.
