What I learned today...

I learned different methods to incorporate inquiry based learning into my lessons:
- The little white book - students design their own revision tool. The students make blank books and they title it 'My little white book on...' the then fill it with facts according to the title e.g. 'My little white book on...acids and bases'
- The cube. The cube will have different words and pictures. The cube will be rolled around the class and whatever the cube lands on the student will give a fact about the word or picture. This allows students to answer verbally and challenges them to process information before they answer.
- Learned how to and a little bit of guided discovery.use IBL when doing experiments

I would like to try the 'little white book of..', especially with younger years as it allows students to be creative and design the book to assist them and how they study.

I think the cube would be very interactive but you would need to have good class management for this to work efficiently.

I really enjoyed this experiment as it allowed us to try IBL as if we were the students for the first time.
The experiment was challenging in terms of the students using their imagination and communication skills.
It was a great experiment to cover majority of the Junior Cycle 8 Key skills.
