There are days where I can be in from 9am to 6pm and there is nowhere to store things I need to bring it meaning that my bag is really heavy all day, I'd love some lockers! There are also times where I can have a 3/4 hour break which means that it's not justifiable for me to go home and back and there aren't many just comfortable chill areas that are big enough for a group of students who don't want to be in the library or busy canteen areas! There's the comfy area in the SU but that's quite busy sometimes, couldn't we have a larger area similar to that? As a student I feel I hardly have one foot in the door, I don't feel a part of the community at Cardiff met. I miss out on many opportunities, I was asked if I wanted to be course rep, but had to decline. I can't attend any social events, or socialise with people at the uni. I'm learning to drive, so any kind of support to do so would be great. Other than the library all the other recreational space on campus you feel like you have to purchase something. There is nowhere to heat up food on long days so it’s either cold food or purchase hot food on campus.

You can’t use the gym in breaks because there is nowhere to leave your personal belongings so you have to carry everything to lectures and seminars.

Tesco have a limit, surrounding areas vandalise cars. Only place is rugby club which costs £3:50 every time you park and also fills up every quick. Other option is to park 20 minutes walk from the university which cost £4 for the day. I have to arrive at the rugby club by 9am most days to even get a space which means I’m waiting around like 2 hours for lectures. Also if I leave the rugby club I won’t be able to get a space when coming back to uni. This causes me to be late for some lectures even at times missing them all together. For example, there’s a bus that leaves Llandaff campus at :55 but lecture finish at :00 so this isn’t idea. Then you have to wait 20-30 mins minimum for the next one. 

Also, everyone who pays for the bus deserves a seat. Students don’t pay £270 per year or £3.60 for a day ticket to stand on a crowded bus. Either send more buses or if staffing is an issue, use a double decker. Also parking...a HUGE issue which has also put off quite a few prospective students. They love the uni and Llandaff campus, but won't come because of lack of parking. 
Maybe even some sort of deal with the car park company that now run the car park outside the bingo hall? Even if students pay for a season ticket to park there or something?

The worst thing overall is having to PAY to park at university. For those of us who are in more than 4.5hrs a day, that’s £2 a day. We’re talking £40 a month, £160 a term ontop of uni fees. This is absolutely ridiculous, with Met’s location being non-city centre and with many people having to carry sports or design kit to uni all day, it’s just ridiculous to charge us to pay to park! Then when the machines don’t work we can expect £16-£40 tickets! I would cycle into uni if I didn't live close to 15 miles away and carrying food, because prices for food in campus are extortionate, for close to 11 hour days is impossible. I am fortunate that I work for a company that has a warehouse close to campus and allows me to park for free. I was parking in Wickes car park until they also introduced a penalty fine for parking there. The university should openly admit to having no available car parking facilities and that students should look at alternative universities if they wish to commute back and forth. If not waking up 4 hours prior to a lecture (approx 6am) to beat the traffic isn't bad enough, when you get there, you can't park your car. I suggest that Llandaff Campus looks into funding the construction of a multi-story car park on site that will grant students who need to access parking access. The stress that parking is imposing on students and on the local community is disgusting. In my first year I parked in wickes/outlet/bingo car park as it was basically always empty apart from the few customers but hardly ever full even with most students parking there but recently they’ve installed cameras and a 2 hour limit in parking meaning you are fined £100 if you stay longer, similar situation with tesco and as I am in uni every day at 9am at llandaff campus this is a major issue trying to make lectures on time while trying to park safely, since struggling with parking I am almost always late which is effecting my studying. Some students have suffered damage to their cars while parking on the estate next to campus which is added stress while you’re at university. Parking in the rugby field comes at an expense of £3.50 when in university every day. Most days I am in until 4/5 o’clock and walking long distances back to a car with the dark nights isn’t desirable. Living 19 miles away means I would have to leave ridiculously early and get home very late if I were to use public transport which also isn’t reliable and due to poor routes it would mean I must use more than one form of transport.
