They would fish for eel, cod ,oysters, trout and other cinds of fish .They found Berries ,potatoes.The population would determine how much they would have to trade. Fur was a very big thing in this time period and important the Micmac traded fishing and hunting tools to improve the hunting in the tribe like knives and hooks

If you want to get food you have to be good at hunting, good at fishing or good at trading. They worked hard for food and shelter for their famlies. They also like fur for warmth also leather. Leather was warm in winter but cool in summer and that is good in Canada.
