Check In Check Out (CICO) sheets are often used for this type of a tier two behavior support. When students are not willing to carry around a sheet, digital versions of CICO sheets can be used. Special education teachers at my school often ask each teacher to fill in a google sheet chart with a specific color showing how the student is behaving. This is called a "rainbow chart." Documentation, consistent school-wide behavior expectations and parent communication is incredibly important to manage behavior.
