It also shows that she has good xenia, as she prepares the finest bed for Odysseus with purple rugs which would have been incredibly expensive at the time.</div>]]></description>

The fact that Arete is spinning yarn, shows she is the typical Greek domestic housewife. The fact that the yarn is dyed with sea-purple, a very rare dye, shows her wealth and prosperity, because she comes from a royal household and likes to show off.</div>]]></description>

This quote shows that Nausicaa knows her role as a Greek woman- marriage. But it also highlights her innocence and youth, due the fact that she's too shy to talk about this subject of marriage with her father.</div>]]></description>
