In this song, Billie Holyday denounces the lynchings done in the South of United States during segregation. The fruit represents a black person hanged at tree.
We have chosen this song because It represents the hard reality of segregation poetically. Also the rhythm and the interpretation are very touching.

We also chose this song because Marvin Gaye is a very famous and engaged  american singer. He fought for the civil right of black people in America. To conclude, it’s also one of our prefered singer.
