These women to me despite the problems they faced they proved that they have the right to do anything a man can do. They don't need special help or people to make things easier for them. I never really gave much thought into this before this class. But since I have been here it has really made me look back to my life and how I was shaped into the man I am today. People in America are so glued to media whether it be music or instagram we are being influenced by others in terrible ways. While living in Jacksonville NC on Camp Lejeune we were surrounded by bars, strip clubs, and tattoo parlors so those things are what many young marines spent most of their money on. America has a long bloody past when we were founding our place in this world. As Americans in this day and age we can not change the past but we should still stay aware of this and learn from them to make sure we do not continue this trend. These traits do not no and can not protect you from harm but they can lesson a lot of life's stressors and also change the way you react to negative things that happen to you. having good manners make you more approachable and less likely to be the one to be targeted depending on the person but also when you stop seeing people by what they have done in the past but see what has happened in their lives that would drive them to take those kind of actions.
