Step 2-Coding

1.When you analyze customer feedback you need to use thematic coding.

2.We need to use thematic coding to identify and summarise important concepts within a set of data.

3.It can utilized when you're looking for themes or patterns across your qualitative data set.

4.Thematic coding it is usually applied to a set of texts, such as an interview or transcripts.

5.Thematic coding involves organizing and categorizing the data to identify themes.

1. Results portion is a part of a research paper that presents your finding and it's details. This is where you show the findings you have and explaining it's details.

2. Researchers reviews six subthemes against each of the eight main transcripts to reflect what the participants were indicating. This way the researchers can explain what the participants implied in their answers and how it connects to the questions.

3. In thematic analysis there is 2 kinds of approach that are used.

4. Inductive approach is the way a data is determined by your themes. In this approach a data can be easily understood or determined because of its specified theme.

5. Deductive approach is data with some preconceived themes you expect to find reflected based on theory or existing knowledge. In this approach the data is mostly based on theories that are already existing and known.

Step 4-Reviewing themes

For me the reviewing themes this is the stage where we check that the themes we've generated accurately and relevantly represent the data they are based on.

• Assessing the overall quality of a product, service, or experience.

• User Experience (UX): Evaluating how easy and enjoyable it is to use a product or service.

• Evaluating whether something is worth its cost or investment.

• Analyzing how well something meets its intended purpose or function.

• Reviewing the support and assistance provided by a company or organization.

In the Result Section of a Research with 7 Guidelines in Writing the results of a Qualitative Study, i learned that:

• The results section of a research paper is dedicated to presenting findings and details objectively without bias.

• Findings should be aligned with the research questions to ensure relevance and coherence.

• Direct quotations from raw data should be included to support the presented results.

• Care should be taken to avoid including irrelevant details that could distract from the main findings.

• Graphs and tables should be used appropriately and in accordance with established guidelines to enhance the presentation of results.

Thematic Analysis

Step - 1 Familiarization

• Familiarization is the process of becoming familiar with something new, such as concept, or task, through exposure and learning.

• It involves understanding to feel comfortable and confident in dealing or interacting with the unfamiliar.

• Familiarization helps individuals adapt, recognize patterns, and make informed decisions based on their increased familiarity.

• Through familiarization, individuals can reduce uncertainty, improve efficiency, and enhance their overall competency in a particular area.

• The action or process of gaining knowledge of something.

• I learned that there's 7 guidelines in writing the result of our qualitative study

• Result section should be clear and organized.

• We should avoid providing comments about the findings.

• Step 7 discuss about writing the result and discussion. The first thing we should write is introduction, followed by methodology and result and findings, last is conclusion.

• By following the 7 steps we can avoid bias when creating result and discussion.

Things i have learned for today's lesson is (Step 5)

•Research: In research themes are patterns or topics that emerge from the data collected

•Literature: In literature themes are recurring ideas or messages that a writer want to convey through their work.

•Everyday life: In everyday life themes can be the recurring topics or ideas that are important to an individual or a community, These themes can shape how people think and behave

•Business strategy: In business theme can emerge from analyzing market trends, customer feedback or competitors strategy.

•Content analysis in social: In qualitative research, themes are identified through the systematic analysis of textual data such as interview or surveys

• results portion is how you interpret and present the gathered data.

• thematic analysis focuses on patterns and more on subjective opinions.

• mainly questions about the perceptions, experiences, and opinions.

• inductive approach is when you explain or understand your theme based on the gathered data. (raw interpretation)

• deductive approach is based on theory or existing knowledge.

2. Thematic coding helps researchers find the most important ideas in a bunch of feedback quickly.

•A common method in qualitative research is thematic analysis. It places a strong emphasis on finding, evaluating, and interpreting patterns in qualitative data.

• In the inductive approach, data is first gathered by the researchers from a collection of actual observations, who then look for patterns in those observations and develop theories based on those patterns.

• The deductive approach is a method of data collection that starts with a theory, works from that theory to generate hypotheses, and then gathers and analyzes data to verify those hypotheses.

2. I learned how to write the result section using thematic analysis, this is where we should transform the codes into themes to present our research findings.

3. I learned that thematic analysis is a qualitative data analysis method that involves reading through a data set and identifying patterns or codes across the data to derive themes.

4. If there are similar or recurring themes, they should be merged together.

5. The results section should be clear, concise, and organized to be easily understood and avoid confusion.

THEMATIC ANALYSIS

STEP 3 - GENERATING THEMES

• Generating themes means sorting the codes into higher-level topics.

• They tie together the codes into groups according to their meaning and give them names.

• You need give each group a label or name that summarizes the main idea it represents.

• This involves formulating exactly what we mean by each theme and figuring out how it helps us understand the data.

• This can help readers to have a better understanding of findings in the study.

Guidelines of writing results of the study – I have learned that writing the results of the study must be organized. It should based on how the research questions or objectives are presented. You can also use non-prose materials appropriately.

Thematic analysis – Thematic analysis is a method of analyzing qualitative data. It focuses on identifying themes and patterns of the data.

Results portion – This part is where the findings and details are presented. It should not be biased.

Steps in writing thematic analysis – The first step in writing thematic analysis is to familiarize with the data gathered. It can be transcribed. This where the overview of the data collected is presented. Second is coding, this is where you highlight the sections of text. Third is Generating Themes, Reviewing themes, and Defining and naming themes. Next is to evaluate and revise and lastly is writing up the whole thematic analysis.

Thematic analysis is the method on how the researchers identify the themes, patterns, topic and ideas that come up repeatedly.

1.The Result Portion is in Certain contexts may you refer to the section or part of your research study, experiment, or report where the findings and outcomes of the study are presented and discussed. It is where the results of data analysis, experiments, surveys, or observations are detailed and interpreted. Otherwise, This is essential in research as it helps to validate or invalidate the research hypothesis and provides evidence to support the conclusions drawn from the study.

2. The Thematic Analysis - the method to how you identify the themes and meanings of data set.

3. Coding - A step that you create a shorthand labels and highlight the important details of the study.

4. The familiarization - helps you to familiarize the details of the topic and to understood the meaning properly.

5. Inductive Approach- This is allowing the person to determine their own themes.

Result portion - presents your findings/details (meaning that this part of research paper is the raw data gathered in the participants without any interpretation or bias.

Inductive - The themes that you'll use comes from the data you gathered.

Deductive - Using another existing theory to explain the gathered data.

Thematic Analysis - Focusing on following the patterns, themes and meaning within the data

Step 6 : Evaluate and Revise - if there are similar themes (same perception/experiences or answers comes from the participants) merge it to make a shorter explanation.

4.Defining and Naming Themes

•Defining themes involves formulating exactly what we mean by each theme and figuring out how it helps us understand the data.

5.Writing up

•This involves weaving together the analytic narrative and data extracts, and contextualizing the analysis in relation to existing literature.
