To a lesser extent, part of Nixon's legacy will be on his addresses to the American people about getting America to ratify the Geneva Accords, as well as highlighting the "Silent Majority" of Americans Wanting the Vietnam War to come to an end. Beyond Vietnam, and into his second term, Nixon would leave office after recordings cam up showing his administration was spying on his political opposition. This would develop into the infamous scandal known as Water Gate. The popular American culture took these negative affects and included them into these productions, which had a huge impact on the citizens who stayed at home during this conflict occurring across the world. 
Songs are generally a large influence on people, which gave the artists of these songs a way to get their thoughts out. For example, in John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance" (produced in 1969), he demonstrates to the public that peace is the way to go, and their is no room for judgement. In 1970, the Economic Stabilization Act was designed to decrease the growing rates of unemployment and inflation by enabling the president to take action if the rates are growing uncontrollably.
