Portsmouth's smell of sea fills the air, it is nice. The day after (today) is the beginning of the class: pleasant colleagues, lovely staff and a keen teacher (David). We experience a warm up lesson which will be a starting point for our future lessons. We also debate thoroughly on italian and british school systems and on what we expect to gain from the course. A late (cold! weather has turned to traditional rules!) morning tour shows us points of interest in Portsmouth. We have started with a new teacher, Natalie, and we have had a session on the job, experimenting online games and a bit of coding ...maybe we knewa bit more than about it than she expected and was clearly caught off-guard at times. We came up with a lot of nice ideas for teaching. In the afternoon we have had our last lesson with David, regarding projects in teaching and the use of technology trough them. Five of us have visited later the historical dock and the amazing old boats. We have experienced something our students will love to do: video making. Today we have recorded, tomorrow we are going to edit. In class this should be useful to brush up some subjects, or simply to practice the languages. After a typical English brunch, under Matt's supervision we have gone over several web sites that offer helpful opportunities in teaching. Later on, another lesson with David, who dealt with very interesting tools to create powerful storyboards. We are at the end, and some of my colleagues will be leaving Portsmouth soon after the lesson to reach London one day before departure. Anyway... we have edited our videos in our last lesson (finished at 12:30) and said our goodbyes to the school. After a final group picture, the remaining group has gone to the Isle of Wight, enjoying its naturalistic beauties, genuine people and picturesque buildings.
