I was put in SPED and held back in 4th grade due to a lot of my learning problems. I was a very imaginative and weird kid, I really loved stories of characters that overcame adversity, as I imagined myself as those characters. I started drawing and making comics, but I also really got into musical theater and joined the drama club where I would write and perform plays. I started seeing reading not as a burden but as a way I can explore my creativity. I had a lot of really good supportive teachers, and I started to dream about wanting to become a teacher. I loved deeply analyzing books and movies and thinking critically about what the author might have been thinking. I loved writing essays, annotating, and making presentations. Weirdly I started being seen as the "smart" kid and was overachieving in English.
