         <description><![CDATA[<p>In my classroom, digital literacy is making sure all students know how to navigate the LMS (Canvas) in order to successfully access all class materials and assignment submissions. </p><p><br></p><p>I model digital literacy to my students by establishing understanding during the first week of the course. Everyone will bring a device to class and we will practice using our Canvas login credentials, accessing the weekly lessons and study guides, and how to submit an assignment successfully. Modeling these expectations shows students that they are capable of obtaining these new skills, while ensuring they truly know how to use the LMS and will avoid several possible issues in the future.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In my classroom, digital literacy is making sure that all students can use essential skills to log in to a Chromebook and independently navigate various learning platforms, including: (Kahoot, ExactPath, Freckle, RocketMath, Savvas, HMH, etc.).  I reinforce that technology is a tool for learning, not just entertainment. I model digital fluency by using technology with intention during lessons. For example, I show students how to use educational apps for reading and math practice, or how to navigate a digital storybook.</p>]]></description>
