Juniper berries are mostly used in Northern European Cruisines. Mainly in the Scandinavian countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. Juniper berries also known as 'En Bär' in Swedish, are used for wild meat stews, for example 'Älg Gryta' which translates to Moose Stew. In Scandinavia they also use Juniper Berries to smoke fish with either Juniper Berries or another spice called 'Granbär'. Back in the days they even used to make a drink out of the berries. Which was served with their meals.

The berries are extremely bitter and sometimes mistaken for Blue Berries. They grow on pine like, small bushes in forested areas. They can be dried and stored in cold places.

They were first used for medication and not a spice. But, as research showed that they had many bad side effects they dried them and used them as a spice instead. Back in the day, the Romans used Juniper Berries as Black pepper due to the berries being cheaper than Black pepper.

Coriander leaves can be used in Indian food, Chinese and Thai. It's used a lot as a spice in curry. When the leaves are chopped it can be used as a garnished and is used raw or applied right before serving the dish because heat can ruin its flavour. The roots are used more in Thai cooking because it has a more intense flavour than the leaves. The corriander seeds can be roasted in a dry pan to intensify its flavour and smell.
