         <description><![CDATA[<div>exposure to food cues for a short period has mixed effects on peoples appetite ,smelling large amounts of sweet or savory increased appetite ratings,<br>measuring participants craving and desire before and after exposure to authentic pizza smell showed the ambient pizza smell significantly increased self reported craving and desire for pizza,<br><br>investigating whether scenting a room with a meat odor before lunch would effect appetite of patients suffering from Alzheimer's<br>study showed the participants attention to their meal and their consumption was significantly increased by 25% by being exposed to the meat odor in advance.<br><br>however a repeat of the test two weeks later no effect was observed even though the period should have been sufficient to prevent habituation.<br><br>while the previous studies showed that pre-consumption odours&nbsp; had an appetizing effect a separate study showed that the odour of dark chocolate had an effect of&nbsp; satiation instead of appetitive,<br>participants smelling dark chocolate for 5 minutes before consumption had an invers effect to their gherlin levels similar to the effects of sniffing dark chocolate<br><br>further studies showed that non food odorants significantly reduced their participants chocolate craving&nbsp;<br><br>ambient olfactory cues are shown by these studies t increase peoples appetite for related foods know as SSA&nbsp;<br>food odours indicate suitability for consumption priming previous knowledge and the macro availability of nutrients&nbsp;<br><br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
