My family and I were going on a hike. I had a plan to follow the trail and make it to a certain destination. But then one of my kids noticed that the blueberries were ripe and all around us. My kids, ranging in ages from 2-12 were all interested in berry-picking, the taste, the closeness to the nuna... and so as a parent I changed plans and followed "the-lead" of my children who were curious and interested and motivated in berry picking.

Rosalynn

When I was working at KOTB daycare, I had children paint rocks for me to keep, when one child was done painting the rock, she asked for a blank paper and crayons. Other children finishing their rock painting all started asking for a blank paper and crayons. Everyone ended up painting their mom/friends and teachers with lots of “butterflies and flowers”. Because children were able to explore more by doing something else other than the planned activity, I did not know that I was engaging in an emergent practices until now lol

When sing to the kids i notice they would be happy/excited about the sing, one would be listening and the other would listen and do hand movements as will. Because i was singing one little, two little, three little fingers, four little, five little, six little fingers. One kid would ask to sing again because they enjoyed the song.
