I think the game is easier then in real life as we could shout out to see who can have trade with me. In real life we need to find one person then one person but not all people at a time. The game also didn't count the value of different object, such as diamond is more expensive than flower.

Also, I will need to make a lot of transactions before actually getting the item I want.

There are a lot of unwanted items and not enough popular items.

I wonder why we stopped using the barter system?

Below are some disadvantages of using the barter system:

-Difficult to agree on a price (is the trade a fair trade?)

-unclear form of currency (how do you determine the value of a certain item?

-Collision/coincidence of wants (the other party wants the same thing, thus refusing to trade)

-Inconvenient, as it it not only a tedious process of multi transactions, but also a difficult from of currency to carry around

-Difficult to store and to determine wealth

I saw that everyone huddled around in groups while bartering instead of talking in a group. It was shocking to me that they’d rather barter than auctioning their items off.

I saw that they would usually trade with their friends before asking other people for their items. If their friends couldn’t provide the items they wanted, they would switch groups and try to get what they wanted.

In this game where many ppl want to have the same thing ex. flowers we saw a lot of chaos as there are limited amount of flower holders , and people is just screaming and yelling for it and trying their best to get what their desires.

In reality we use money instead of objects to trade for different demands, we think it is harder in reality to get what we want as money kind of determines what you can get now. Before, the value of each object just depends on how much we want it, yet now it solely depends on currency.

WHY did the Barter system stop?

What happens in society when a large amount of people goes for the same demand at once?

Does it count as fair in the barter system if its whole purpose is just for us to get our own demands?
