It’s comes to pay. Teaching pay is not very high and males are often times looked at as the “breadwinner” “the support” not as a care giver or someone who would teach. Religion, especially christiananity, emphasizes the "binary." Black and white, yes and no, male and female--but it's seen that binary is just not accurate. There's naturally occurring intersex babies (which are mangled at birth and face lifelong medical issues from the intrusion) and so many instance in nature where there are not just two things. One person's religion should not dictate a population of free willed people. one more time. ONE PERSON'S RELIGION SHOULD NOT BE USED TO DICTATE A POPULATION OF FREE WILLED PEOPLE.

Unfortunately this is what students see all throughout their education experience. It is hard for boys to see themself as a teacher when they do not see very many as they went through school.

I think it’s important because most of the time if someone is bullied or abused because of the way they are, it’s because people don’t know enough about it. Society is scared of things they don’t know, but if we can properly educate people on the topic without “shoving it down their throats” as some people say, I think that more people would be open and accepting of the idea.

I think it is becoming a controversial topic as so many people have so many varying opinions on gender. However, at school it is important to ensure that all students feel supported and accepted by people there.

I believe we should teach young students that there are different ways people identify and express themselves and we should not to treat them poorly. I think when people bully other based on gender and sexuality it comes from a lack of understanding and exposure. With exposure, they realize they are people just like everyone else.

I think social and cultural factors have the most influence, especially since friendships become more and more important to you as you grow older. But religious and political aspects definitely play a role as well
