People of all ages have the ability to sustain prosthetic rehabilitation. Most prosthetics are for replacement of lost limbs, but some people that have joint and muscle issues may use a brace prosthetic over their limb to gain some mobility and use back in that area. Sometimes, even animals need prosthetics.

.American actor
.In 1978, Robert David Hall had to have both of his legs amputated as a result of an accident in which an 18-wheeler truck crushed his car. The accident also caused the gasoline tank of the car to explode, causing burns over 65% of his body. He now comfortably uses prosthetic limbs, allowing for personal mobility.

Amy Louise Winters, (born 19 March 1978), is an arm amputee Australian Paralympic athlete. She won seven medals at three Paralympic Games, including five gold medals.
She was born in Kempsey, New South Wales, and was born without her lower right arm. Winters has two older sisters. and she attended Kempsey High School.

Whilst living in Kempsey, she was coached by Lloyd Smith. At the 1994 IPC Athletics World Championships in Berlin, she won silver medals in the Women's 100m, 200m and long jump T45-46 events.

Upon finishing school in 1995, she moved to Coffs Harbour to train with Glenn Thacker before relocating to Canberra to train with Chris Nunn prior to the Atlanta Games.
