In Noah' view, "the real world doesn't go away...at some point life will force you to pick a side" (Noah, p413). The essence of Noah’s argument is that the differences between people, communities, and societies will force the individuals to choose a side which they belong to, and they will simultaneously be against the other groups, which may lead to serious stereotypes and conflicts. Yes, it is true that even if we ignore what is happening in the world, things are still happening. But people can choose to not belong to any side.

Noah states, " I decided I'd rather be held back with people with I liked than more move ahead with people I didn't know" Noah's point is that he is more likely to be close with who he is familiar with. We disagree with Noah's view that people are more likely to move ahead with people they like because, as recent research has shown people are more curious about new experiences and relationships which forces them to meet with new friends.

According to Noah, "the real world doesn't go away....at some point life will force you to pick a side" (Noah 413). In other words, Noah believes some choices, such as picking only one identity, are unavoidable due to racism. We disagree with Noah's view that people should choose a side necessarily because, as individuals classify themselves based on race and disregard "the others", it can lead to and reinforce the phenomenon of racism in society.

Noah states, "I decided I'd rather be held back with people I liked than move ahead with people I didn't know" (Noah 416). Noah's point is that he values friendships more than potential benefits of moving forward with unfamiliar people. I agree that the support and accompany of friends is better than benefits and opportunities because my experience in high school confirms it.
