"8th Grade Bites" is a novel written by Zac Brewer, which is one of many other novels written into a series called "The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod". Which is your typical 'a boy who was born as a vampire,' and having his parents main origins mysteriously forgotten by an 'accident', and left him as the only survivor in his family. But the story gets interesting since it's lore, has a lot to explore. Also Vladimir Tod's Aunt has a close relationship with his parents, but speaks nothing about it. While his Aunt takes care of him, his close friend Henry and him adventure out to which as the story progresses the bits and pieces of the hidden clues about his father and mother are revealed. He is being hunted by an unknown force, which you see scenes in the book where a man is repeatedly shown interrogating victims and asking them questions about Vladimir, and is shown to be a vampire like Vlad. You are mistaken to believe him as the unknown force, but, there is a twist to the story which makes stories like these and Harry Potter so great.

There are many things to explore in this novel, mysteries on how "this and that" connect to "this and who", and the lore which is expanded upon as it shows "a world where monsters exist" and the main protagonist is one of them. What I like mainly about this novel is how it may seem like the average horror book, but there is a faint twist in the novel that gets bigger as the story goes by. If having a whole 'Vampire Council' is cheesy enough, it makes you wonder is the world you live in can truly exist. Since the book shows all the ways that maybe these monsters do exist and they have all these ways of being able to go around with our daily lives unnoticed. Smart moves like how Vlad's Aunt purposely signed up to be a nurse so she can smuggle blood bags gives the story more of that vibe. What I don't like is how confusing it can get and how many ends of connections from person to person isn't solved.

Review for Cherub

Unlike my previous novel, a story like this is more likely to be present in our world. It fascinates me how the creator is able to explain things we don't know before we even know we've been given an explanation. Kind of like foreshadowing. in the novel, James Adams is forced to hide a huge sum of cash he received from his mother. Giving the clever scenario, James hides the cash behind steel frames of his locker, inside a cassette player, and in a leather pocket hidden in his pillow. It's situations like these that give the brilliance of James, and why Cherub has chosen him. Overall, I feel if your personality
focuses on engineering, and you like to watch the main protagonist's reaction to past events that had already occurred, this is a book for you.
