Share some memories with the class about what you DID over the break that holds a special memory for you. en-us 2021-12-17 19:55:05 UTC 2025-10-12 12:26:36 UTC hello@padlet.com Winter Break lhopkins33 https://padlet.com/lhopkins33/ocnhoiddajkhr4tl/wish/1976838494   What a crazy two weeks we have all had!  My vacation started off on Monday 12/20 with a trip to Salt Lake City to visit my daughter, Shelby who is a ICU nurse at the University of Utah.  I was accompanied by my husband and son, Bryce.  We rented an adorable house which was withing walking distance of shopping:-) and this amazing bakery.
  During our time together, we went sledding,my children went skiing/snowboarding and we spent some quality time together.  Staying safe, we cooked in our rental or picked up meals.  It was a delight!
  The three of us left my daughter in Utah on Christmas Eve and returned in time to pick up our precious dog, Kali, at the Puppy Spa.  She has it SO good when we are gone:-)  Dinner was spent with my parents, sisters, nieces and nephews as well as Christmas Day.
  After all this, the next week was a bit slower with time spent walking and taking time for myself, as well as watching some incredible football bowl games.  I now sit in the front of our classroom typing this, looking out at your empty desks and missing you all.  I certainly hope you are all safe and that I will soon see your smiling faces.

I built my new horse jumping lego set and around eleven AM My sister, dad and I got in the car. My mom had to stay home because she had work. We watched a movie and got there around one PM. We went to the science museum , but we couldn't go to the beach because the water was polluted from all the rain water from the mountains. Next I di a lay date with my best friend we went to the movie theater to watch "Sing 2" and we enjoyed it then we went back home to make candle's they smelled really good but then we finished so we played hide and seek and she scared me so much because she hid in good hiding spots to scare people while I just hid next to her bed which surprised me that she didn't see me even though my hair was dangling from her bed cause she has a bunk bed, then we got bored to we made a little fort in her living room and watched a Christmas movie then after an hour I had to go home. What a year it has been! I got to go to Los Veges with my friends Karis and Jeremiah. We went to M&M world. I bought a fan with a compartment with M&M in it. Jeremiah and Karis got M&Ms too! There were so many! There were skittles, peanut M&Ms, even Los Veges M&Ms! Then, we went to Hershey World with for some reason had jolly ranchers! We sat on a giant hand and took a picture of the kids. I finally know how to ice skate without the helper aid! Then we were back home. 
The next Monday, we went to Mammoth! It was my first time snowboarding! I am happy that I can ski and snowboard!
Then the last couple days I had 3 play dates in a row! The first one was at Memorial Park. Then, I had a jump rope class. Finally, I went to my friend Emerson's house to play on the last playdate. Even though I had a lot of fun on my break nothing beats seeing you guys at school. Hope to see you tomorrow!

All this is true, no doubt, but my utmost favorite part is the following. It´s not so grand, but it was my favorite part indeed.  The adventure started when my grandparents finished eating.  Just there and there mischief time began. Felix and I darted for  the end of the unending hall and when we did reach the end ( it was not unending after all) we turned on or heals  and flashed inside the  darkening room. Therefor, we turned on the light like the sun raising with vibrant colors which without them would cause chaos. Okay, back to topic. We landed on the soft covers of the bed like we had many times before. Just then and there our grandma arrived, not twitching the tiniest bit as she saw us getting in her bed which had been neat, though that wasn´t the case now. She  already knew of course that  she could find us there because we had put this plan in action millions of times before.  Then, our dear grandma moved us to a side and then we goofily played around like you do with your grandparents when you´ve done something mischievous.  This is of course only the beginning, as for I only scraped this moment of my life but it will have to do for now. We went to a very fancy restaurant called 71 above and wore a dress my grandma gave me for a Christmas present, On Christmas eve. When we got home my cousin,Erin my little sister and I made the yummiest sugar cookies ever! After of corse we frosted them. 
      I could not sleep that night!
The next morning there were 4 gifts under the tree and all the cookies were bitten and most of the milk all the way gone. I teared the gift rappers opened. and saw...my very own watch! It could do everything! I also saw my Santa stuffy on the gifts! I think Santa is trying to tell us that he brought them!
The next day We went to this hotel called Terranea! I packed my suit case and we went to the Terranea resort! 
It was a blast it was so so so fun! We bought cookies and bought a bought 2 brand new stuffies! On is named Peanut butter the bear and the other is Ollie the dog! We had a blast! We also watched the movie Encanto there. The next day we all went home and ate pizza for lunch. then, I played this game called snake.io with my cousin when you attack other snakes and get it's leftovers, and whoever is biggest is the king. After everyone was finished packing we said goodbye and spent the few last days alone until ..... Now

When my parents were at the supermarket, grandma, Emilia, and I filled cups with water and threw it to the people eating at the restaurant below called Tabac Coffee.
Every single day we ate ice cream. When we ran out, our grandpa took us to the ice cream shop. Then, we bought tons of ice cream. The vanilla flavored ice cream there is the best in the world. Even better than ever single flavore there could ever exsist. I also liked playing foosball with him and with my other grandma.

Oaxaca is famous for various foods like chocolate, mole, honey, mezcal, and corn tortillas. On the first day, we went to a bookstore but all the books were written in Spanish. After that, we went to the market and we saw many exotic fruits and vegetables. The reason so many fruits and vegetables are grown in Oaxaca is because of all the microclimates. That night, we went to Casa Oaxaca, a restaurant. We ate many new foods like ants, worms and grasshoppers. The next day was pretty much like the first. But the next day we finally tried Oaxacan chocolate. When we ate it it tasted like fresh cacao not some month-old chocolate. On our third day, we went to Monte Alban, a 2,000 year old village and one of the biggest pyramids was 43 steps that is three flights of stairs. Then we went to a village called San Martin Tilcajete where they started making alebrijes, hand-painted and carved wood animals.
On our fourth day we went to the Sunday market where they had famous Barbacoa lamb enchiladas.
We arrived at Rancho Pitaya, where we stayed for our last two nights. The next day we went to the mineral water that made a petrified waterfall. Then we went horse riding. On our last day we went to see the widest tree in the world. Then we went to eat famous memelas. After that we went to a pottery town. Then we left for the airport. That was my trip to Oaxaca, Mexico.

It was a blast! My family and I all went to Teton Village to go skiing and I have improved a lot. We all skied for 3 days and stayed at Jackson for 5 days. The weather was really cold, but it was still a lot of fun. When we stayed there, we all watched a lot of football because my little brother, Wyatt, loves watching sports and playing them. The last day of skiing i think was the best because the snow was great. We also went dog sledding with my Mom and little brother that was really fun. There were paintings that looked like photos and sculptures. There was a beautiful garden with plants and flowers. In the garden there was a hill covered in grass and we rolled down the hill. Unfortunately, parts of the museum was closed so we didn't see more paintings or sculptures. There was also a pond in the middle of the garden with a maze and ducks. It was amazing!
        We also went up Mount Wilson to the snow. On the road there was ice and I slipped on the ice for fun. Sadly, the snow plow came and spread pebbles over the ice so you wouldn't slip.

     The following week, I went to the park with my family couple of times.I had so much fun! I played with my brother's friend.
     The next week my dad got a week of so I spent a lot of time with him. We went to Lego land for two days. I went on the submarine, pirate ship, boat and roller coaster. It was really exciting! I even watched a 3 D movie where water was splashing on me. It was the best day in my life!
     Even though,it was raining a lot , it was still the happiest winter break I have ever had. I spent a lot of good times with my family.
