When choosing my target audience for my film, I feel like in order to understand and engage in the opening sequence and outline of the movie, the age range would have to be from 15-years-old onward. This is due to the difficult social and political issues surrounding crime and criminals acting in an influential way that may affect them. People of the younger/young adult generation might watch a crime film in order to idealise how to behave in a situation of pressure on them to commit a crime (stereo-typically) or to understand and seek knowledge from the contemporary word of crime.

Being gender specific for an audience for crime films would be a bit too selective. Men and women would watch a crime film for the thrill of it and the enigma codes developed. However, I would say that stereo-typically, men/boys are generally interested in crimes and violence in movies. Crime films appeal to both genders.

People interested in crime dramas on TV might watch a crime film if they are interested in the specific genre and mystery (often associated with both TV and film in this genre to engage an audience).

From the 4 categories (main-streamers, aspirers, succeeders and reformers) I feel that maybe my film would appeal to reformers. This is because usually there is some sort of deep moral message embedded in crime films about life and the story. There is an element of story-telling in most crime films that follows a main protagonist (usually a man).
