Write a speech, laying out the arguments to support the solution you think is best for this issue/problem. Your objective is to come up with a solution in the best interest of the students. You should arrive at the best arguments you can possibly think of. You must apply persuasive techniques (such as repetition, use of personal pronouns, use of emotive language, rule of three and rhetorical question) in your speech as well. by Esther J

From Japanese cuisines to malay cuisines. However the school cannot provide enough selections of food to cater to all of our needs!! This does not only affect us students, this also affects the teachers too.

Food is the source of nutrition and energy this would greatly affect the learning of the students .

good afternoon ms esther and fellow classmates. we are jason and jerlene. do you get tired of seeing the long lines at the canteen stalls the moment you step into the canteen? well we do so, today we are here to share what we think is the best solution to resolve this problem of long queues. our idea is to have more canteen stalls to give the students even more options for their meals.

It is hard to find time to enjoy our meals properly when you spend most your recess time queuing up for the food. the time given for our recess is too short for us to enjoy our food well, just queuing alone can take up to 15 minutes of our precious time. By the time we get our food, we would have very little time left to eat, which is very rush for us.

Having more stalls in the canteen, this provides students with a wider variety of food selection in the school. Now, the most popular stalls are the noodle stall and malay cuisine stall. the lines for these two stalls are often so long that it is able to reach the back of the canteen which last up to 15-20 minutes. there could be more stalls with cuisines differing from malay and chinese noodle cuisine, for example korean and japanese, they could end up just as popular and be another of the students’ go to choices. the overcrowding at the two stalls will then be dispersed and the queues shortened. the time wasted on queuing would also be lesser and we can enjoy our food slowly.

Good morning fellow classmates, I am Keyan Chua. Do you think that the canteen food taste disgusting? Do you want immediate change? Well, I am here today to share about the appalling food in the canteen. Shortly, I will be talking about the problems and solutions.

As a part of the student community, I think it is my responsibility to feedback about the food in the canteen. Personally, I am absolutely disgusted by the vendors being unhygienic. To add to the matter, the food does not taste well. To make matters worse, it sells for a high price which makes it unaffordable. These reasons lead to students refusing to eat recess. Some of the vendors use inappropriate language which may have negative effect on the students. Many who have eaten the food, whether teachers or students, have gotten food poisoning. As the wellbeing of our fellow schoolmates are affected, I would like to enforce that this is a serious issue. In addition, upon listening to this incident not resolved, many people will not be keen on coming to our school which will affect our school reputation. As time passes, the widespread of the issue will lead to heavier consequences such as, closing of school.

I would like to propose to lower the prices of the food and ensure that the canteen vendors wear gloves and let them go for talks on hygiene to teach them the importance of being hygienic. If the vendors do not learn from it, the vendors should be changed. In addition, there should be monthly hygiene checks to ensure the quality of food served for students and teachers. These are my solution for the issue.

Thank you for your kind attention, please consider my proposal and I hope we can solve the problem as soon as possible.

Good morning classmates, I am Marianne Lim. I am going to present on an issue about the school's I.T.equipment. Do you find the school's technology equipment faulty?
The projectors are all in pretty bad shape as when they are switched on, most of the time it will show a screen of another colour, for example yellow, which makes it hard to see the screen clearly. Another issue is that the projector is sometimes unaligned with the projector screen, which makes information from slides unreadable, affecting students' studies. Even after informing the staff in charge of the equipment, they still have not done anything.
I propose that we advice the school leaders to spend the school funding on the I. T. equipment to allow us to be able to study properly and take notes down.
In conclusion, this is why I feel that the I. Today I am going to share with you about the best solution to solve the trash laptop problem in our school.
These laptops are very slow and take a long time to load. This time wasted on waiting can be very precious to some students.
However, I have a solution for this problem! The school’s technological equipment can be replaced with faster and longer lasting laptops. Though this might be costly, it is a good long-term investment for existing and future students. This will definitely benefit students that are doing work or research as it will give them more time to do so.
In conclusion, it is necessary to replace the IT equipments in school as the solution to this problem.

Good morning fellow classmates! I am Dzulfadzli and today i will be talking about the issues with the canteen food. “Are you still hungry even after eating a full meal during recess?”. The problems we have with the canteen food is that it is not very filling for students to survive the entire school days.

One problem with the canteen food is that it is not very filling for students. This would cause students to still feel tired and lethargic during lessons. This contradicts the effectiveness of recess as recess is supposed to energize students after a few lessons so that they would be able to focus well in class and to let them have a break from studying. However, the food portions are too small and students would not be able to get enough energy for students to give their fullest attention to the teacher during the lesson.

One solution we can think off is to make the portions of all the foods bigger so that the students would be able to gain enough energy for the students. This would reduce the amount of people falling asleep in class during lessons and also it would make the students be more productive. Therefore, making the food portions bigger would solve the issue of the food being too little for students.

From this i can conclude that the food portions should be made bigger as it would improve how the students behave and the work of the students during lessons. Thank you for your kind attention and listening to my speech.

Good morning fellow schoolmates. I am John Tan from Secondary 3F. Are you longing for good food? Today I propose that we improve the quality of the canteen food. In my speech, I will be covering on why the canteen food is not up to standard and suggesting a way to improve it.

The canteen food does not meet the qualitative standards of good food. This is because our food does not meet the hygiene standards for good food. This is detrimental on student's heath as it can lead to food poisoning. This can affect their well being and would potentially result in students missing school lessons and can halt their learning and education. For example, in our canteen, many flies are spotted in the canteen stalls and on the food as well. These flies can carry bacterial infections such as dengue fever. This affects the student's well being. Hence, the food and overall canteen environment does not meet good hygiene requirements.

A possible solution to this problem is having mandatory clean ups by the students and teachers. As much as the cleaners put in effort to clean, the teachers and students should also play their part to ensure that the canteen is clean. This can come as a mandatory rule by conducting wipe downs on our canteen table and ensuring students look after the cleanliness in the canteen. Hence, I believe this is a possible solution to this problem.

In conclusion, the canteen food hygiene standards should be improved. I hope you will support my suggestion and help to make the canteen a better place for one and all.

Good morning fellow schoolmates! I am Li Cheng Yao, and today I am going to share my opinion on whether schools have failed to cultivate the reading habit on students or not.
"If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.” So mused J.K. Rowling, a British author. This sentence catches the essence of how schools try to inculcate the reading habit on students.Schools failed to cultivate the reading habit in students. Indeed, schools try to do that, yet, a large majority of the students in schools still hate reading, which is obvious in our behaviour when we are reading during the assembly or other periods. I am sure most of us groan and whine when we are asked to read the newspaper or reading articles that the school have sent us. Hardly does one come across a student interested in the field of reading. Instead, we see students interested in other things, such as computer gaming or sports. I personally think that schools have failed to cultivate the reading habit in us students, although they try- think about it, the boring, long-winded articles that the schools send us, and how they made reading mandatory to us.

First and foremost, this issue is of great importance of us, as we are experiencing this, which directly affect us. This affects us negatively as the schools send articles that we are apathetic to and which leads to a waste of time. Books do not only improve the reading comprehension skills and provide general knowledge on people, places, or ideas but widen the confines of the reader's imagination and give him/her a better understanding of the world we live in.This is a serious problem as we are wasting many time and resources on us to cultivate the reading habit, in which they have failed.According to the website owlcation, in literature classes, the only word that comes to the students' mind is tedious. The classes were largely limited to hearing the teacher reading out loud, followed by a round of the most annoyingly simple questions about the text, while all the students struggled not to fall asleep on their desks. That is, instead of helping us develop a taste for literature and create reading habits, it made us think of books as an academic obligation, unfit to be enjoyed, and of no importance beyond the limits of the classroom. The problem is at large as this will continue if we do not voice out our opinions. The problem is widespread in the world, globally.
Hence, I would like to propose, for students to bring their own books to school to read, which saves time and bring enjoyment to reading at the same time. It is like killing two birds with one stone. Schools can organise surveys and polls for students to vote which books they are interested in. This will make students enjoy reading while being educated at the same time. Another solution is to make literature classes more interesting and appealing, to the current trends in the world. Such as social media. Instead of crushing the ambitions of the students who are interested in literature, we will be encouraging them, developing a healthy number of poets.
Thank you for your kind attention. I hope you will support my ideology. Let us solve the problems together. Remember, to succeed, we need a "u".

Good afternoon Ms Esther and fellow classmates. I am Jeslyn Chen and today i would like to share with you the issue on the canteen food and how it is too expensive and that it is not hygiene.

Although school stalls are suppose to be cheaper in general, the food stalls in the canteen have been constantly and gradually increasing their prices. I feel that overtime it will become too expensive for students to buy. Not only that, the hygiene level are not up to standards. In one instance, there was students who have gotten food poisoning once. Since it was a small batch of students, the issue have not been raised and I am concerned about it.

To solve this problem, the stalls should nit increased their prices every year, and set a limit on it. The school should also ensure that their hygiene license have not been expired and should have stricter hygiene measures.

In conclusion, there should be limits set on the food prices and a specific standards on the hygiene level.

Good morning fellow classmates. I am Hon Mun. How many times have you been distracted while doing work? I would assume many times. My objective today is to propose a solution to tackle the issue of not having a conducive study area to study in.

Many students have trouble studying, whether it is studying outside or at home. Students might be unable to study at home due to construction noises or even a baby making noise. Even if they study outside, they can still easily get distracted. Examples include the school canteen. Many students have CCA after school and they have to eat in the canteen. The canteen will be very rowdy and it is definitely not a conducive environment to study in. This makes it very hard for students to study and limits their learning.

I would like to propose a solution to this which is to build a study cafe in the school compound. This cafe will be open after school for all students to use. This cafe will include seats allocated for students. There will be stalls where the students can buy snacks while studying. The study cafe will have rules for students to follow as well. These rules include low volume, no distracting of other students and sit at your allocated seat. Breaking these rules can lead to a ban from the study cafe. By building a study cafe, not only will the students be able to maximise their learning, but they will also be able to buy snacks from the cafe. This will be effective in making an ultimately conducive environment for students to study in.

In conclusion, building a study cafe will be effective in maximising students' learning. This will eliminate the problem of having no place to study without getting distracted. Thank you for listening to my speech.

Good morning fellow classmates. I am Christian and I am here to share with you about the importance of having a conducive learning environment and why schools have to take action

8 hours. A confined space. The table you write on, bathed with vandalism, will not stop rocking. The chair can barely hold up your weight, creaking with every movement. Even when you try to focus, you simply can’t ignore the ceiling fan wobbling precariously above your head. This could drive anyone insane. But as unreal as this sounds, this is the daily life of an ordinary student.

Although greatly exaggerated, this is a very real problem. The attention span of students dwindles. Instead of the ideal atmosphere that encourages participation and learning, classrooms are filled with paint-peeling walls and rusting equipment. With the cut-throat demands set by educators, the classroom experience is crucial for helping students learn to the best of their abilities. With such a negative space, how can anyone expect students to produce the outstanding results desired?

Even with the most charismatic of teachers that keep students on the edge of their seats, what is the point when the seats can’t even hold themselves up? Schools need to replace their equipment for the good of all students. Every available opportunity should be taken to increase student learning. Even if it can be costly, every bit of money goes to the development of the future of society. The classroom environment can be a very powerful tool for teaching and will be a waste if ignored

Good morning fellow schoolmates! I am Wai Lam from Secondary 3F. Did you know that other schools have a café or an air conditioned room dedicated for students to study in? Wouldn't you like that in our school too? I feel that something similar to this can help in tackling a huge issue we face, which is not having a proper place to study in. This, I propose that the school builds a café for us to study in at our own convenience.
In our current situation, we don't have a room that students can use to study in. Hence, we have to study outdoors, in the canteen or at benches. Studying outdoors can actually be very ineffective. This is because there are many things that can district us from doing our work one example would be the weather. If it's rainy heavily, there's the risk that our worksheets may get wet. If it's hot and humid, we will feel very uncomfortable and may easily lose motivation to do our work. Another example would be noise. In many occasions, there is construction happening outside our school. The nous from these constructions may sidetrack our focus from the work to whatever is happening outside.
With a café, I believe that many of these issues may be averted. Firstly, the café comes along with air conditioning, which will provide us with a more comfortable place to work in. Secondly, due to the nature of the café being enclosed, any noises from outdoors can be blocked off and we can use all of our focus on studying. There are also some other benefits that we can reap. For example, we can serve caffeinated drinks for us so that we can have an extra little energy boost before CCA sessions. Furthermore, we can also play music that can help stimulate our concentration so that we can study better.
In conclusion, I hope that you consider my solution on the issue of not having conducive study areas in our school. Thank you for listening to my speech.

Good Morning fellow schoolmates! I am Rydha. I am going to admit, our school has limited study areas that are condusive and why is that so? We are unable to study in classrooms after school as they are either used for remedial or are locked up. The canteen is packed and this might not be a pleasant environment for some of you. The library is used as the teacher's staffroom now. I am here today to share about the limited conducive study areas in school and a possible solution to it.

Why should we care? We are the students of St hilda's secondary school. As students, our academics is our top priority. Many students have complained that even their home is not an option where they can peacefully study, the sound of vacuum cleaner or their cries of their baby brother seem to irritate them. Hence, their grades dropped drastically and this seems to be an issue.

Therefore, I have come up with a solution! Our school can build a café that serves healthy and light snacks, coffee or tea, salad ect and alongside this will serve a great place for students to study as there will be air conditioning built in and proper lighting. Rules will also be implemented such as no creating a scene by shouting or running around. As this is in the school compound, students are expected to follow the rules. Furthermore, this is a much better option for students than going out to Starbucks or the library to study as school is a guaranteed safe area.

In conclusion, a café can serve two purposes, one being an condusive and safe study environment and two a place where students can eat snacks to rejuvenate themselves. It's a win win situation for all of us! Therefore, I hope all of you to give this idea some thought and consideration. Thank you!

Good morning fellow classmates, I am Mario and Luigi. Today, I am here to share my thoughts on whether we have conducive study areas at school that fulfills our basic needs as students. As most of us know, the library is currently the only place open for us to conduct light revision and last minute reading after school or during our recess breaks, not to mention, the library is a very cramped area which will definitely not give students a very pleasant experience. Due to this minor inconvenience, I’m sure that we can all agree that most students will resort to the canteen and classrooms which is prohibited during recess. Hence, i feel that providing more tables and chairs in the library and making a designated study area for students would greatly benefit both teachers and students. As i elaborate on my points, do give me your full attention.

One suggestion is to add more furniture in the library. This allows more students to be able to do their revision, reading or incomplete homework. As the library has air conditioning installed, it would be more comfortable for students to study. I am confident that after adding more furniture to the library, more students would go to the library to study or revise. For example, students may even take interest in reading the books in the library. This can also improve their primary and secondary languages.

Another way is to build study corner near the canteen. It would be good to place it near the canteen as once students are done eating or playing, they can go to the study corner to rest or revise and study. In addition, air conditioning would make it more attractive to students. I suggest providing comfortable chairs and laptops for students to do research should they have a school project. For example, during recess, a student is able to go to the rest/self-study area and have access to the laptops there. I am sure when one goes into this area, they will have a fun and interactive experience.

All in all, i strongly feel that adding more furniture to the library and creating a separate study area will benefit Hildans in various ways. I certainly hope that my suggestions prove the importance of a conducive learning area. Now as I’ve come to the end of my speech, I thank all of you for your cooperation and for listening attentively.

Good morning fellow schoolmates! I am Bob. Aren’t you tired of going to the library to study where there are strict rules on no eating, no talking and no drinking? Don’t you wish to have a place where you can both eat and drink while studying and also enjoy the nice air-conditioner? Well today in my speech I will be sharing my ideas on how we can improve students focus and their comfort levels in school. I will also be stating the benefits on why we should do so.

Currently due to covid-19 students aren’t able to fully access the library as teachers occupy the library as their staffroom due to the covid-19 measures. There are times when students want to enjoy the cool and breezy air in the library and they are some who wish to complete their school work and do revisions for their upcoming exams; however, it’s not always open. As a result students will start to feel very warm and stuffy even if they are in their classrooms as it’s very warm nowadays and students won’t be able to study comfortably in school. Some may want to study in school as their homes do not have conducive study environment, however with library being closed or occupied students won’t be able to do their revisions or complete their homework. Which would result in bad grades which would affect the student’s mental health as well. I have noticed this issues for quite some time now and this issue is widely spread in school.

Therefore, I have come up with a solution. We could let the school know of our issues and propose the idea of having a café in school which is air-conditioned, where you can enjoy both your food and beverages and a place where students can sit comfortably and do their work in peace. This will be help improve the student’s productivity level and help them study better and concentrate better. It is proven that students can study better and focus better if they are in a comfortable area. Not only can the students use this place but so can the teachers. Having this café is a win-win situation. Not only that students could help raise funds for the school to build this café for us.

To conclude, having a café in school will help students to study better and eventually would help improve their grades as well. Therefore, I strongly believe that we should build a café where we can study and relax. Thank you for listening and may God bless you!

Good morning Ms Esther and fellow classmates. I am Aden. Are you ever satisfied with canteen food? Probably not. I am here today to propose a solution that will fix this. Canteen food can be quite unappealing and unaffordable for those who buy food during recess and lunch.

Food is an important sustenance for us and keeps us going for the day's activities. Without a proper meal, most students will not be able to have the energy or attitude to learn, and hence they can become quite disruptive during class. The food can also be quite disproportional to the amount you pay and the amount you get. Nowadays, food can easily cost up to $2.50 or more just for a measly plate of rice. This is quite expensive and may even result in students not even wanting to eat, hence they have no vigor to continue learning. This not only affects students, but staff and faculty alike who buy and eat the canteen food too.

I propose that we have the vendors create new food that emphasizes more on quality than quantity. As well as reminding them to keep the prices at affordable rates. With these new changes, not only students can better enjoy the food, but staff as well. Once they have their own proper meal, they will have the vivacity to resume their work or learning properly. With the affordability, the food will also be more accessible to students, encouraging them to eat and hence learn with a full stomach.

To summarize, having adequate quality and affordable canteen food can greatly improve the school's energy as a whole. It can provide the necessary boost for everyone to continue with whatever work they have. Hence, I believe that the canteen food should be of higher quality and more affordable. Thank you for listening, and have a good day ahead.

Hey guys! Don’t you all want to lighten your burden? Good morning teachers and classmates i am danya and today I will be sharing my proposal on installing lockers in our classrooms which I think will benefit students. Many schools have lockers assigned to each student. However our school does not provide us with lockers. Therefore I would propose to the school to provide us with lockers.

Each and every one of us are responsible for having our subject materials prepared for our respective lessons. Home is the safest place for these materials because no one has access to it besides ourselves. Sadly, this translates to all of us being forced to take these heavy things back and forth between school and home everyday. Moreover, some of us may live further away from school, hence this not only causes us inconveniences but also is hazardous for our back. Heavy weight on our back leads to backache that may cause us to hunch and lead to diseases such as scoliosis.

Thus, to tackle this issue, our school should install lockers at the back of our classrooms. This allows us to leave our materials in school with assurance and also ensures all of us to be prepared with our materials for every lesson. Lockers can be allocated to each of us according to our index number and at the end of each term, teachers can ensure that we bring back all our materials home. Hence this not only creates a conducive environment for us, but also reduces the severity of backache.

To sum up my speech, I think it is necessary for the school to issue us with lockers. Though it is expensive, it aids to our learning and reduces potential health problems. Therefore, I believe that it is important for us to have lockers and that my proposal surfaces to you the importance of lockers. Hope seek your support!
