As a student, there will always be times wherein I seem to get uncommitted to my academic responsibilities. I am a student, but my life does not revolve around academics alone. That is why sometimes I drift off from my responsibilities especially when it consumes all my time. Like how I reject family gatherings, friends invites, and feel guilty if I give myself a day off from my school works. However, I never run away from my responsibilities knowing that I am doing this for my future. I only have two essential steps that I undertake to bounce back from my slump. The first one is creating and looking at my reminders hanging at the side of my study table. I started creating reminders when I was a struggling first year student. I got low scores and a pile of assignments; that alone made me think to be uncommitted because my efforts weren't acknowledged. Then I decided to make random notes reminding me that I can do better, and I have to get up and push through. And the second step is I talk to my family and friends. It is simple but it helped me a lot because these people will not only listen to me, but also assure me that whatever I am feeling is completely valid. I find it relieving and comforting knowing that no one is putting pressure on me. Also, these people would lend me a hand whenever I have no clue on what I am doing. Those two steps are the reasons why I developed a skill of balancing responsibilities and priorities. Let us all remember that taking a break from our commitments doesn't mean that we ae irresponsible. It only shows that we have our limits, and once we reach it we need to recharge and rethink.

My only advice to my future self for her to be happy, satisfied, committed, and to have good performance is to always remember why she chose this career in the first place. My 3-5 years ago self was young and had a lot of options. She can be whoever she aspires to become in the future. And because she chose what she is now 3-5 years later, then she must have been passionate about this career that she pursued this field. So, whenever she doubts herself and the choices that she made; she needs to remember the burning passion and desire to become the person she is now. The thing is, if you do things with and out of pure passion, there won't be any person who'll mandate you to do things you are willing to do. You'll become satisfied, contented, happy, and stable knowing that you are where you see yourself 3-5 years in the future.

Studying can be a daunting and excruciating task, especially if you will aim to excel in your class; however, it will be rewarding in the end if you are a tenacious and resilient student in being committed to your academic responsibilities. Although, I try my best to be consistently determined and be responsible to my studies but there were times that I neglected my academic responsibilities. Consequently, I constantly reminded myself of these five factors that keep me motivated and enthusiastic with my education.

1.) Firstly, I think of a factor that shaped me into who I am today, which is my family; I am studying hard because I want to reciprocate the love and sacrifices of my mother.

2.) We are humans where we can feel unmotivated and uninterested at some point in our lives. I frequently meditate since solitude is vital in improving my performance where I can reassess and reflect.

3.) Thirdly, I wanted to bounce back and be committed to my academic responsibilities since I enjoy the feeling of being awarded academically where it boosts my self-confidence.

4.) In addition, I allow myself to relax and unwind after a heavy task since I always protect my mental health.

5.) Finally, I am a very futuristic type of individual, so whenever I am being uncommitted with my academic responsibilities, I remind myself to redirect my focus since I always envision a healthy life where I have a house, I am financially stable. I am genuinely contented with what I have.

These five factors help me to be determined, resilient, and passionate in my life!

Presently, whenever I involve myself in any endeavors in life, I make sure that I am at my best version of myself and do my best abilities. Fortunately, this can always make me contented and motivated to do excellently with my works, and this mindset will always be my greatest advice for my future self, to be the best. Furthermore, I will advise myself to stay focused on my goals in life, be open-minded to various perspectives, and keep my burning passion to my work or job.

Studying is fun yet challenging and I admit the fact that there are times wherein I seem to get uncommitted to my academic responsibilities. It’s not easy to balance 10 subjects because sometimes the activities were given the same deadline. Also, If I get low scores during exams and quizzes even though I study well I feel exhausted. But still I try my very best not to give up and actually I have my own steps on how to bounce back and improve my performance. So here are my steps

We all know that psychology tuition is very expensive so this is why I motivate myself not to give up and I think of my parents’ sacrifices in order for me to pursue this course.

If there are activities that given I will write it down on my sticky notes including the deadline and time so I will be reminded and this technique helps me to submit all my activities on time.

Last but not the least is to think positive and I will not put myself under pressure so that I can focus on answering all the activities, exams, and quizzes. I always think positive in order for me to think clearly and vanish those negative thoughts that I can’t do this.

In addition, It is okay to feel like there are times wherein we seem to get uncommitted to our academic responsibilities, we have feelings too. We are all humans and that is normal but we must encourage ourselves that this degree that we are studying is for our own future.

I think it’s all normal for a student to feel demotivated and uncommitted sometimes towards their academic responsibilities for some reasons. Together with the 95% of students, I have no special ability to stay sane and committed in the very long process of working my dreams however, I have my own coping-up mechanisms to help me stay track on my goals.

1. I always go back to why I am here and my purpose.

2. I think of my family.

3. I always took consideration of what would be my future self and future life.

4. I hate regrets that’s why in every performances, I gave my all.

5. I always consider my everyday performance as a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The above-mentioned are not totally the step-by-step process, but more likely my ways on how I could bounce back and improve my performances every single day. Every battle I face in life where I feel like I am failing or about to lose, I always go back on those thinking because those thoughts are my own image of strengths – they gave me reasons to fight back. And to everyone who are reading this and feeling that they are failing in their academe, know that your feelings are valid and let it be released, and after that bounce back stronger and braver because the only thing you can accomplish difficulty and uncertainty is to face it and fight it back.

As a student, I sometimes felt uncommitted to my academic responsibilities in a way that sometimes don’t want to do my academic responsibilities anymore. Especially that online class is very tiring. I have experienced anxiety because of the things happening around me, it is like I felt overwhelmed of it. I, sometimes felt guilty when I rest, I cried every day, I had experienced chest pain every morning, palpitations and sometimes I cannot attend family gatherings anymore and cannot do my responsibilities at home. I was in a hard time adjusting everything especially this new way of learning. However, I always think and accepted the fact that it is what it is. The first step I did to overcome these things and to improve my performance is, I always make “To-Do List”. In this way, I have organized everything and I can plan already when I can do these things. Second, I don’t procrastinate. If I do, I rattles and I can’t think properly. As much as possible I do my activities early or before the deadline. I don’t do my activities same day as the day of the deadline. In this way, I can still have time to rest and do the things I want without thinking about the deadline. Lastly, I take rest in a way that I don’t use my laptop or as much as possible I don’t use my phone. I made time for myself, families and friends in order for me to recharged in academic. These are the tips that helped me to cope up stress in academic. Always remember that “Slow progress, is still a progress.”

</sub>

My advice to my future self would be to always go back to where you started. A lot of people nowadays forgot to where they start and that’s something a crestfallen since I see it as a negative attitude of being ungrateful. Aside from that, thank those individuals who help you, those who are with you when you are so down, and those who never leave you in your darkest hours. Never commit any thing that could distance yourself away from you family. It’s very ok to lose friends because that’s part of life. It’s ok to have little circle of friends, but real ones. Also, make your mom and your lola the happiest women in the universe. Spoil them with your love and money because their happiness is the most priceless gift that could wipe away all your sadness and tears. Lastly, always be thankful and grateful for God for all the blessings He gave you and let your pocket be God’s instrument to bless others. Always pray and have faith regardless of your social status. Happiness and satisfaction result to a better work performance, so, let your heart be filled with happiness and love with the people around you and with God.

Whenever I feel like I don't want to start anything, I tend to procrastinate a lot and ignore everything related to academics. When this kind of situation occurs, I always remind myself of these steps:

1. I always feel motivated when I look at my tuition fee and the effort that my parents made for me to enroll in this course.

2. I don't force myself when I feel like I don't want to accomplish the task because I know I'll just do it half-heartedly just for the submission.

3. When I feel uncommitted, that basically means that my body cannot work effectively and efficiently and it needs to be rested for a while. This is my way of recharging myself to prevent burnouts. After which, I re-arrange my To Do lists to condition my mind that I have to start working on these due dates. It has been my habit as well to message my friends to ask for social and emotional support. When I can feel the momentum and enthusiasm to do my academic responsibilities again, I fuel my motivation with a nice music to listen to paired with a luscious food to eat.

I have been to that a lot of times, but it’s kind of different for me. As a student, it can be hard sometimes, especially if problems get together at one time. I do feel unmotivated, but I didn’t feel uncommitted; they’re different feelings. Why do I say so? Maybe for me, even if I feel exhausted, I don’t have the time to be not committed just because I am not motivated. When things get dry and tough, usually I take my time to cry first— if I’ll cry, I make myself stuck from there and think for a while. I let myself trap every time, even if it takes me longer to process, I wouldn’t mind because crying helps me throughout life. Second, I must stand up. This may be weird to read, but after I had a breakdown, something is whispering to me “It made you cry because it will let you see the other side of those thoughts.” In here, I see how important it is to experience your emotions, to be not kind with yourself when you’re in that state because breakdown is the hurting itself. However, I don't work from that thought any longer. I choose beyond my breakdown and look for the other side of the door to start another line. Finally, I must take my step for another forward and go on with life. Vice versa.

You've come so far and you did great for the past 3-5 years. Please remember that you are amazing and you've made amazing decisions. I hope you don't regret those decisions. Take a break and stay connected with your family, friends and most importantly yourself. Find motivation in everything you do. Don't let your failures be the hindrance of your success.

Yes, as a student there are times that we can't connect our daily tasks in our academic life but there are a lot of ways to do it. Like, in myself when I feel that there's something wrong with myself and with my academic status.
The first step I going to take is I tried to do things that can make me enjoy or activities that can help me to relieve my stress because maybe one reason for being disconnected from our academic responsibilities is because you already experience a lot of stress in yourself. The second step I take is to have some time with my family and friends. The third is I'm going to focus also on my academic responsibilities because even though how tired you are and how stressed you are you have still responsibilities to do. But, we have different ways to handle it.

There are times that I felt so burned out and I just want to stop going to school at some point. However, I am not going to stop my education for the reason that I just feel unmotivated or uncommitted. One more thing, I have a goals that I need to achieve. Everytime I feel so lazy in everything I always reminded myself: to sleep, I need to rest for me to reenergized, and for me to have fresh mind. the second thing that I do is to find motivation to work. I get my motivation in my family, friends, and shows that I like. Lastly, give your best at everything you do even if others can't appreciate it. These are the essential steps that will improve my performance.

We’re all human, our life not only revolves around being a student, but we also need to recharge ourselves and do other things that we continuously need to do. Here are some factors that keep me motivated with my education.

Firstly, I think of the reason and purpose of why I choose this degree.

Then, I think about my future in which helps me to focus on my goals.

Thirdly, I will list all my activities including the deadline and time to be reminded, and submit it on time.

After that, I reward myself by watching or listening to horror stories, scrolling to social media while eating, and enjoying playing with my cats and dogs.

Lastly, I will do my activities slowly but surely to finish them, and to keep reminding myself “Laban ra kay b*g* ka”.

Although, I am not an achiever type of student, but these factors help me to be determined in life.

There are times I feel unmotivated about studying, and I have sometimes been described as lazy for it. It's more than likely that there are a variety of circumstances causing a lack of interest in academics. Motivation does not always come easily, and we all go through times of difficulty or inactivity when finding the urge to keep going. When I feel unmotivated, the first thing I do is to acknowledge my successes and the work I've already completed, and reward myself. For this, I will let myself to indulge in the activities that I enjoy. I watch movies, play computer games, sleep, and hangout with my family and friends. After I clear my mind, I get back on track, establish a plan, and set a realistic study goal. Having a to-do-list helps me minimize procrastination. I get motivated by seeing my accomplishments within the day and always look forward to the next day.

I feel overwhelmed and it is so draining that sometimes I don't know what to do just to finish all the task on time because I am not motivated to do it.

In light of the current scenario, I've noticed that I'm particularly unmotivated these days. I'm constantly exhausted and wish I could spend all day sleeping. My mother will always chastise me for staying up late, overindulging in coffee, and spending the entire day glued to my phone. Since I believe it's so damaging, I came up with the following solutions:

I created a planner - with this, I will be able to schedule on what are the things I needed to accomplish for the day

I entertain myself - I read books or watch some series for me to divert my attention every time I feel stressed in school or at home

I remind myself of my goals - through this I will have the driving force to continue on what i am doing

I exercise - I do this to help myself function well mentally and physically

I would congratulate and reward myself for my small progress - because why not? Small progress are still progress and it inspires me to thrive more harder in achieving my goals

I rest - the most important of all, because this would help me gain the energy that I have drained in entering classes and in making school works

The fact is, even on days when I want to give up, I just let myself be miserable because it's the easiest way for me to cope with my inability to function properly and complete lack of motivation. In other words, you're shielding yourself from the dangers of your surroundings, such as the people and objects in it. I take a week off to think, rest, and recover from the stress, and then I get back up and keep searching for my life's meaning.

I have always been struggling towards this new set up of schooling. Even though we are already doing this for more than a year now, it is still my constant battle to organize my time in doing the assignments, wake up on time for the early classes, and keeping in mind all the school works needed to be done while still minding things outside the school. Hence, I would really admit I get uncommitted in my academic responsibilities most of the time. However, one thing that I truly value within myself is perseverance. I know that there's no smooth road when I aim to reach a successful destination. Just like this sudden transition from face-to-face to online classes, it's one obstacle in my journey towards my life goal since I am the type of student whose weakness is doing a lot of written assignments. And online class mostly go around with that type of activity. Nevertheless, I make sure that at the end of the day I should face head on challenges like getting unmotivated in my studies in order for me to continue the walk. The following are my own steps in overcoming such challenge:

1. I make sure to give myself some time to lay back and temporarily unburden myself of the heavy thoughts. Acknowledge my weakness and my feelings.
2. After a while, I ponder on the things as to why and who I do these for. And that is for myself and my family.
3. I talk to my parents and hug them to draw strength from them. Most especially, I take time to pray and ask God for courage and determination to continue the fight.
3. I spend time to think through all the loads and organize it by listing the works to be done first and setting time when to do it.
4. When I feel a slight of hope coming back in, I take even just a small step to get back to where I left.
5. As I continue, I keep in mind all the reasons why I must continue the works, that includes my personal reasons like getting satisfied and rewarded for the things I accomplish.

Feeling uncommitted to academic responsibilities cannot be avoided. We feel this especially on times when we feel most exhausted. I believe that in times like this, we just have to go back to our main source of motivation and inspiration. In that way, no matter how rocky the road gets, we will be able to get back on our feet and persevere.

My ultimate advice to my future self 3 to 5 years from now is to simply make sure that you learn to love and to be happy on what you are doing; your work and the workplace. I believe with that, everything good will follow. And in order for that to happen, I would say to my future self that a good mindset is very important. When you set your mind on the positive things, you would be able to perform good at work. And that may radiate to your surrounding as well. Build relationship within your workmates because they are an important factor to feel safe and contented with your work. Along with that is the constant motivation to get things done. So, when you feel like you are doing good, definitely you'll feel happy and satisfied. Therefore, when all things align, you eventually learn to actually love your work and the people around you. Especially, if you fortunately end up being in the field that you are actually passionate about. So to my future self, please be patient and I will do my best here to get to where we want to be.

As a student, it is undeniably accurate that sometimes I get uncommitted to my academic responsibilities especially in times when I feel demotivated. However, I have always thought on how I will keep myself on track and to be more focus with my studies without obliterating my work and social life.

Growing up, my mother has taught me the importance of organizing and placing things in order. From this, I have learned to utilize and apply it in the most aspects of my life, particularly at work and school. Being a full-time call center agent and full-time student have trained me how to become more efficient in managing and balancing my time. Working at night and studying at morning is certainly not easy. It took me so much time before I completely adjust my body’s internal clock. My shift starts at 10:00 PM and ends at 9:00 AM, that means I have no sleep. My classes start at 9:30 AM and ends at 6:00 PM, that includes all the vacant time in which I take my power nap. The good thing is, Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, are my rest – days from work and on those days, I can definitely spend my time for school, while on weekends, I spend my time for work. I would say I’m now in the stage of being an adult for doing such kind of routine.

And in order for me to deal with it, there should be a presence of time division. For me, a good student knows the importance of studies and there’s no way to compromise it. And with this being said, one factor of being a good student is to read in advance. Advance reading is one of my strategies. It helped me become more participative in the class. The flow of the discussion between the teacher and student will make it more interactive.

To complete and follow the lessons in a specific subject, I do a proper plan preparation. First, I use calendars because for me, it’s the fundamental step in managing daily school activities. Second, I motivate myself to do better because it benefits me to increase my quality of work. Also, I spent two to three hours to complete a certain task. It already includes brainstorming, composing of thoughts and articulating ideas. I am not fan of procrastinating. I keep reminding myself not to waste time and get rid of the unnecessary things not related to school task to enhance productivity. Third, when working out a certain task, I constantly make sure that my mind is clear, and out of pressure. Because sometimes, when I am so pre – occupied, I tend to lose on focus, and it affects my cognition. Lasty, I don’t work on my task if it’s already beyond my capacity. It is highly essential to plan our task ahead of time so that we can allocate time and work on it without getting drained.

In conclusion, finding balance and time management is always the key to bounce back and increase my performance both being a student and being an employee. For me, it is never a good idea to only focus on one particular area. I have always tried to find a healthy balance between my academic workload, participating in social and extracurricular activities, and giving myself a time to relax, unwind, and to give myself a break because I deserved it.

Life is so uncertain and that we can never control the things that is destined for us. So, my advice to myself 3-5 years from now to become happy, satisfied, committed, and to have a good performance at work is to spend your time well for it is the time that is the most precious resources. Second, always remember that obstacle is always the way. Challenge yourself to take up what problems you come across and try to recognize the opportunity. The ability to practice this will keep you durable in the case that you end up facing something that will truly tests you as a person. Third, control your environment. Don’t trust yourself to make good decisions. Instead, design your environment so the right decision requires the least amount of effort. This might mean you avoid bringing unhealthy food into your home or you turn down a job offer where you may be pressured to compromise your morals. Whatever the case, you’ll have a better chance of making a good decision by setting up the right inputs rather than relying on yourself to create the right outputs. Lastly, do not hesitate to exert effort on the things that you think you deserve. Do not settle for mediocrity, aim high, and be the best version of yourself.

There are more days now where I want to rest than do school works, and the only thing that has kept me going is the thought that the semester is ending soon. But there are also times where I tell myself that I need to bounce back and improve my performance. The things I do are:

1. I give myself some time to rest and take a break.
2. The factors that I ponder are:

1. Think back why I started in the first place.
2. I always told myself to not be selfish because if I'm tired I'll always remember that I am not alone.
3. I'll contemplate that my loved one suffer more than I did so its probably a one great factor to be motivated.
4. I'll be thankful because of the things that life has to offer, because there may be a day where I complain since I find it as a worst condition but what I find worse may be worst to anyone. So I'll have this mindset of resiliency and optimism.

Of course, I believe most students do have moments wherein they feel down and unmotivated, and it's normal to feel that way especially when the end seems a long way away. As they always say getting through college is one of the toughest experiences one will have. As we face social, academic, and financial demands left and right, we will feel exhausted and tempted to just give up. However, as much as possible I don't wanna be stagnant. I don't like it when I am losing the drive to study. Having said that, whenever I find myself in this situation, the things I do to combat this feeling and improve my performance are;

1. Think of the positive things I experience throughout the day/week

2. Reorient myself by keeping my end goal in mind.

3. Reward and give myself credits for small wins.

4. Take a break every now and then.

Motivation is an absolute must-have for everyone, especially for us college students. But motivation is something we cannot buy, it must come from within us. That being said, learning how to get motivated or being motivated is all about taking care of ourselves.
